  • My new pc is as noise as hell... 2002-03-13 15:47:36 Have you never heard the noise of a jet turbopropulsor? Well, this is almost the level that the CPU fan is able to make in my new computer... geeez!! I hate when I make this kind of mistakes >_<

    69 decibels.... can you believe?? o_O;

    And now I have to change it... I am oriented towards an high end dissipation solution at a very low noise (20 Db): hope I will not screw up again!

    BTW, if someone is interested in buying my older fan+dissipator... well, it is brand new and I'll give you a very good deal: this damn thing it's noisy as hell but cooles like a siberian winter (copper surface with 7000 rpm fan)

    iserlohn (damn how difficult to spell :p): everything is gonna be alright, don't worry. Life can be quite shitty sometimes, especially when you crack with a person and then have to live 24/7 with him/her... but there is always tomorrow, and the sun will shine again.
    I've tested this upon myself: when I feel really bad I just think "well, this can't last forever"... and then I decide I'm sick of feeling bad (sometimes it works :p)

    And if this can make you feel better, you have more journal hits than me! :P

  • Another day down... 2002-03-11 17:37:42 Machine: I think there is some misunderstanding there. They are talking about 2 mbits/sec as the CAPACITY of the line: this means the total bandwidth at for your use EACH second (2 people connected, they get 1 mbit each, and so on).
    What you wanna ask them is if they have a limit on the monthly (or daily) bandwidth usage, no matter which the speed of the line is.

    However I know that finding an host is kinda a pain in the ass... I mean, our videos are not known very well and we still pull around 40 Gb/mo. I am starting seriously to think about rotating the videos and put the other ones downloadable on request by an ftp server on my machine (which I still have to mount :p)

    It's 1:00 am and I am just back to the office... you wanna know why? Because tomorrow I am moving to my new apartment and, putting all my stuff in the boxes I RAN OUT OF FRIGGIN' TAPE!!!

    How I can always be like that??

    A normal person would have waited tomorrow (well, actually today) morning to go and buy some tape... instead I am lurking over here trying to find out some decent tape, gah >_<

    Well, better move my ass if I want to sleep at least a couple of hours this night...

    Just read gambitt's journal post... hey Jeff, when something is good IT IS good: no matter what. I really esteem you and Nathan so much as creators... there is no falsity or whatever here.

    Boy, I feel like when you wake up after months of sleeping or just return home after years missing. Everybody seems so cool now... people who I admired but felt at (more or less) my same level are starting to come out with videos one better than another.
    Just rewatched "Numb" again, MeriC latest video, AbsoluteDestiny works... I feel so "incompetent" right now, like I will never come out with a good video again.

    Or, at least, not so good.... bah.

    But, even if my AMV maker life sucks, I have some good news :) Me and Cristina are officially engaged and we'll get married this June! Oh man, I can't wait for this moment... I've been away from her for almost one year right now, and everything started to seem so distant in these past months.
    I really need to have her with me, and she feels the same way.

    So we'll be living here in US like the 90% of you guys!! And there are chances that you'll see us at Otakon this year, yaaaaaayyy!!! :D
    We will not be able to enter the contest almost 100% sure since the final term is June I believe, and with the wedding and stuff I don't think we will have the time to make a four-hands video for Otakon :p

    If I can, I'll try to remaster my X video and then we'll think about sending it (but probably it is not going to pass the selection though). However for the first con we will be attending we really would like to bring a team video... we'll se what happens :)

    Speaking about team works, I've been talking with Ian (AbsoluteDestiny) in the past days to see if we can start something together: I really like this guy and his editing style, and the idea of a common effort has always been circling in my mind.

    Now, if we only could find a decent IDEA....

    ...Just kidding Ian... :)

    Well, I think it's all for this time. I dunno when I will be able to post again here, but in the meanwhile...

  • Hmmm... I need to post in this thing more 2002-02-13 09:51:43 Here we go!
    I was used to post much more in the journal in the past months, but now this stupid project is killing me so I don't have that much time :(

    Today I am going to Microsoft's technology center to take a look at their newest Biztalk solutions and give an estimate for integrating it in our product (that I am actually developing). I know it's nothing to scream after, but everything is welcome when I can make a four hours walk out of this office :p

    My new computer should be on its way to my home, so expect FINALLY something new from me. As I already said, I am not planning to make anything new for the moment. I would like more to remake my two X videos for a plethora of reasons that probably you don't want to know.

    Oh well... actually this is my journal, so I'll tell ya anyway :p

    Basically I want to take the rust off my editing skill & premiere before embarking in a new project, so remaking some of my "oldies" can keep me busy and give me the opportunity to enhance them ^_^
    I already made some tries with both of the videos, and I have to tell that I like faaaar more how they were starting to look... the only thing is that I heard that Hakura is making a dramatic X video too (same category of my "Apocalypse"), so she will probably beat the shit out of me with that :P
    I'm telling ya... that girl is good. And I mean GOOD.

    Oh well...

    I'm thinking about sending Reverse Madness around to some cons when I'll finish redoing it. I think the idea behind is quite neat, but still it needs some work in the technical/emotional department. Dunno how that scratchy music is gonna to push "emotions", but I think it's worth a try :p

    Yesterday I've seen Fight Club (probably for the billionth time) coupled with another great movie: Snatch.
    If you didn't saw that one I greatly recommend it to you: it's so damn funny!! And has a lot of interesting editing in it... actually I think that the way the edited the footage is the best feature of the movie...

    Geez, rambled way too much. Have to start working now...
