Getting closer

Yeah, I had a burst of inspiration yesterday evening and I've been working on my video for almost 5 straight hours. Now I'am at about 80% of it, and I plan to finish it up this night if I don't lose inspiration :p
After I complete it, I'll go through a couple of reviewing steps, fixing all the minor stuff I left behind (minor synchronization issues, changing some clips, etc). Then I will have to create the intro (I have some ideas and I want this intro to be really c00l :p) and finally bring all the stuff into After Effects.
In AE I will basically only some text layering and little effects... I know I could do that in Premiere, but when you have to move stuff around the screen is soooo much easy in AE :)
I think that this video is coming out quite good... surely better than the old version. You know what is funny? I was watching again X the movie some days ago and I suddenly realized "Man! My videos are soooo much better than this movie!".
No, I am not praising myself... X is a great animation feast, but let me tell you: that movie is completely killed by a wrong audio commentary. The music is all out of place and so bad... with some good audio it could have been a great move indeed. Instead it's only a long and boring sequence of cool animations (good for videos though :p).
I didn't want to go that way but after seeing the movie again I was thinking to remake also my other X video. Geez, the final sequence is 1000 times better in my video than the movie :p I will probably do it if I am not still 100% sure of my new idea...
Hmmm... as long as I will finish this one I'll send out a preview to some trusted people. What do you think Ian, are you willing to see it? :p

Geez, I am so tired this morning. Cristina is sending me the BLOCKS of manga that I've not read in this whole year and I spent all the night up reading. It was probably a stupid thing to do, but when you are hooked up... well, you know the feeling :p
I dunno if anyone of you knows that in Italy we have a real sh!tload of manga in italian edition. I mean, really a LOT. If I can suggest you something (aside from Berserk, which I already advertised :p) I think you should try "Jojo no kimyona bouken" (Jojo's bizarre adventures): man, this manga is pure dynamite fun. Hiroiko Araki is a genious!! Believe me!!!
Hmmm... I could spend hours talking about the manga I like but I don't want to bore anybody, so I'll stop here by now.
Yesterday I had one of those quirks that make you going postal with Premiere... I export the timeline and when the export arrives to a particular frame in a particular clip, Premiere shuts down without even saying a word.
Tried once.
Tried twice.
Saved the project with a different name.
Moved the clip around.
I've spent almost half an hour and the friggin' thing still didn't work >_< Eventually I came up with a very nice "Screw you!" and started to play Half Life.
Killing a couple of slimy aliens always manages to cheer me up :)
AD: so you are studing AE, uh? Great!! So we can share some tricks ;) Just let me know if you need something... I could also send you the CD that came with the book I bought: it has nice examples on how to use AE in a "creative" way if you understand what I mean.
Alright... I need some coffee now.

Bleah... spending sundays like this always make me sad. I mean: it's a beautiful day outside, perfect to go for a walk or anything else you could imagine...
And what I am doing? I am here writing in my journal... geez, I hate to be away from Cristina.
Just to break up the boredom I offered one free review (catched in few minutes) and now I am waiting to finish the download :/
You know what? What I would like to do now is to watch one of that very bad movies... like "Bill & Ted bogus journey". Man, if your girlfriend is fond of Keanu Reeves you have to show her this movie... her esteem of mr Reeves will drop by a good dozen of inches... but it's just too funny :)
Hehe... I love all this kind of movies where you have big monsters killing people in a senseless attempt to make an action movie. If there are snakes, alligators, gorillas or any other kind of genetically mutated stuff you can call me: I'll probably enjoy it ;)
And I love also the "pseudo" horror movie thingy like all the various Scream, I know what you did last summer and Urban legend.
Funny :)
And obviously I don't have to mention one of the greatest movies ever made: the Army of Darkness... geez, if you don't like that movie you better chop off your hand and replace it with a chainsaw right now :D

With yesterday evening session the number of hours I've spent on a friggin' 3 seconds shot in my video have gone up to seven.
I want to achieve a particular effect in this little piece, trying to redo in After Effects what I did once (with an *incredible* amout of tweaking work) in Premiere. Let me tell ya: AE is great for doing such things, the only side effect is that since you have so much potential you easily can end up in an overkill of stuff.
This is what happened yesterday... 1:45 AM, render the damn thing, import into premiere, render again with the rest of the video...
Geez... how comes that something that looked good five minutes before now looks like crap? This is probably the disadvantage on working on a piece disconnected from the rest of the video: you lose the "feeling" of the whole thing :/
Hmmm.... another three hours session awaits me this evening trying to clean up that mess. I'll probably strip out a bunch of things just to make it look a little cleaner.
For all the rest my boss finally decided to move me into .NET development so I can play and entertain myself with some C# crap... not that is crap at all: I come frome Java programming and so is like returning home :p
