Singapore Cosplay hits the headlines!
2002-03-03 23:22:48
This is the first time in ages that I've been able to log on the .org! Everytime I fire up IE, and the animemusicvidoes.org's first page (configured to be my default page) tries to load up, I cross my fingers and hold my breath in the hopes that it will come through just THIS time... but nope, at least not until today that is!
I'm sure Phade must be going out of his mind with the problems... I wonder if he needs some money to get the site on a proper web host. Wish I could donate... but Phade said in an old forum post that he wouldn't start taking in donations until he has an accountant and a lawyer. Wise choice, but I wish I was an accountant or a lawyer so I could help out... In any case, I'd be first on the bandwagon should the call for donations come. I can't donate much, true, but I think every little would help.
On another note, a friend who works at the papers has just told me that this weekend's paper is going to feature Singapore's March COSplay!! Woohoo! More exposure for anime in Singapore!
Anyway, go check out the Miyuki Anime Club from Singapore...

The Chairman Joash Chee is doing good things for the scene in Singapore... I mean, an anime CosPlay in one of Singapore's hottest shopping malls? Wow. I wish I was there...

100 profile hits. (Yes, I hung around to witness it. Sad, no?)
Anyway, yay. Let's bring out the bubbly.
Just read Kusoyaro's journal entry for 2002-02-25 where he outlines Harry Potter's basic plot for every single book so far.
He forgot to mention that in every single book, it turns out that Voldermort is the big bad villain. Oops. Sorry. Was that a spoiler? Don't worry. It's not much of one, because like I said, it's ALWAYS Voldermort.
If you don't like Harry Potter's formulaic plots, go read Dianne Wynn Jones' Chrestomanci series. they're fantastic... alot darker and smarter than Harry Potter.
I wrote about it in more detail in my 2002-01-14 journal entry. Go read.

My profile views is poised on the brink of hitting 100. I've had 99 views so far! Well, somebody should go click on my profile page. I can't give you anything, but I'll wish good karma on you.
I just arrived in Australia a couple of days ago, and this is the first night my internet connection is up and running. I think I just missed the opportunity to max out the 3 gigabyte limit from last month's usage. Darn. It's going to be hard to limit myself, after having gotten used to the unlimited bandwidth and blazing speeds the cable modem offered me in SIngapore. Blast it.
Things are so much less stressful here... I actually got several chances to edit my Nausicaa video! It's looking OK, but I'm still not happy with it. I think I'll meddle with it until I think it can't get any better. No point ruining a good video/music combo because I want to release it before it's truly ready.
I've really got to get my DVD drive working so I can finish watching Trigun. Gaargh.
2 of my floors noisiest tenants have moved out. Wow. It's so restful and quiet now. I kinda miss them though.
If you've got Morpheus, fire it up and go download a couple of music videos from this guy called Jay Chow. They're great. He's a Taiwanese R&B singer whose videos I just LOVE. I'm going to get the VCD... better still, if he's got a DVD out, I'm getting it!
It's 4 am.
I'm hungry.

I'm leaving on a jet plane ~ Chantel K.

It's 6.30 am, and it's less than 4 hours till my departure from Singapore.
I've been up the whole night packing, trying to somehow reduce the stuff I have to bring back to Australia so it won't go over the 30 kg limit. A little hard, considering that I have my CPU among my luggage.
Yes, I couldn't leave Australia without my editing system... and with a 20 kg limit then, I had to contend with less clothes so I wouldn't have to pay the ridiculous charges for overweight baggage.
I just hope I don't go over the limit this time... I don't want to have to open my bags and start handing my mom stuff to bring home. Hey, it happened the last time!
Anyway, the next time anyone hears from me, I'll be in Melbourne.
Feel kinda sad leaving Singapore.... I don't feel like I spent enough time with my family. Sigh.

Just got paid... but as usual, my debts and bills have ensured I see less than half of it in my pocket. None of the amount I'm getting is every going into the bank... I need new shoes, a new CD burner, and RAM... more RMA! MORE MORE MORE! BWAHAHAH!
Sigh.
No money again.
EK, read about your freelance job. Glad to hear you're getting paid well! Just make sure you don't spend like I do... bleah.
