JOURNAL: Amizadai (Lee Amizadai )

  • *niggle* 2002-03-27 09:25:09 I've already brushed my teeth twice but I *still* feel like I've got invisible food fibres stuck in the back of my teeth. I've almost sprained my tongue flicking it back there to probe for bits of chicken or vegetable that always seem to be *just* out of reach.

I think I need to buy mouthwash - the good, strong kind full of Listerine goodness that would strip the buds off your tongue and scald your tonsils if you gargled too long.

Or maybe I just need to floss. Or brush again. Till I bleed.

    ...

    I think I'm becoming obsessive-compulsive.

Someone help me. It's 4.30 am and I can't stop thinking niggling between my molars for phantom shreds of food.
  • Oye niña bella, ponte a gozar! Oye niña bella, ponte a bailar! ~ King Chango 2002-03-26 21:50:18 I'm going to hell... I just spent about $40 on magazines. Aaargh.

I bought IDN (a Honk Kong based designed magazine), Giant Robot (Asian pop culture) and Dazed & Confused. Can't wait to flip through them, though I am so easily distracted that I hardly ever finish any of the ridiculously expensive magazines I buy. Sigh. But still, having them in my room suggests I am incredibly interesting, cool and updated. Yay, me. Money CAN buy esteem.

Last night, my Sims-addicted dorm-mate Sisca ran into my room telling me to come to her room to look at one of her Sims burn. Apparently the Sim was trying to put out a fire when he caught fire himself. After the Grim Reaper arrived and claimed him for the underworld, his wife came home. My friend clicked on the urn that marked the spot of the grisly tragedy and instructed her to MOURN.

I don't know why, but that really disturbed me.

So the Sim mourned, putting her face in her hands and weeping wretchedly. It was amazingly realistic... the sobbing and breath-hitching and distressed bawls of "Oh gawd!" were pretty convincing except for the fact that she kept lifting her head to look about the room distractedly as if checking out the fire damage. Decidedly unsettling. So of course, I asked my friend to make the Sim mourn again to better enjoy the feeling of unsettlement. After the Sim was done displaying her grief, she stood in the spot in a sassy posture until Sisca made her walk away.
  • 2002-03-26 17:11:39 I dreamt in slow mo last night.
  • amizadai is now known as Amizadai - don't get confused now! 2002-03-26 08:50:24 Heheh, Phade just did me the favour of changing the first letter of my nick to an upper case. It's been bothering me the entire year.

Yes, I'm really picky that way.

  • Chicken Soup for the Asian Student 2002-03-26 06:00:40 I made some Chinese tonic soup today. It's too salty and takes up too much space on the stove, but damn, it smells good. It's been simmering for the entire afternoon and evening, as all good Chinese soups should. I think I have everyone on my floor thinking of home...

Some things I've learnt in this culinery exercise:

    1. Table salt and cooking salt are not the same. Cooking salt is a LOT saltier. Salt kills germs as it does tastebuds.

    2. Chicken carcasses will totally disintegrate after 7 hours in the pot. No chopping is needed. Useful when you don't know how to divide 5 chickens fairly among 8 people.

    3. You can buy friendships with chicken soup.
