- effectiveness 2007-02-09 16:52:53 well i got to watch more of the DBZ Season 1 box set today and it actually works on my other dvd player. horray! as long as it works on one of my players i dont care. went back and watched some of the earlier eps the one where King Kai explains about the Saiyans to Goku. turns out in the option to hear japnese score with english dub one of the insert songs doesnt play! damn that pissed me off. if your going to use the original score that means use insert songs! then again this isnt the first time they've cut an insert song. they cut out Mezsa Tenkaichi in the Dragon Ball dub the first time it played yet it played during the Tienshinhan tournament. shrugs. they also cut out Cha la Head Chala as the opening but left in Zenkai Power. very odd in deed. im thinking about buying the japanese R2 dvds so i can have the 4:3 footage. the widescreen isnt that bad but in some places it really stands out. if i can find the insert song that was in eps 20 ill add it back in for my own viewing. i have a bad feeling when they get to the Cell Games they'll still cut out the insert song when Gohan transforms into SSj2. just my feeling. well thats it for now. out.

well i got my DBZ Season 1 box set today. finally but i may have to return it because of some video defects. especially in disc 5 with the Goku vs Vegeta fight. the widescreen issue is not that bad as people proclaim it to be. its mostly noticeable during the opening and ending themes and a few of the fight scenes if you know where to look. even with the remastering there are still dusts and scratches on it on the japanese film print. even still the video quality is much better than those ultimate uncut crap. ill see if that weird glitch/video defect causes to happen in my other dvd players. i notice some times with my other anime dvds itll act really weird in one dvd player but will act fine in another. it happend to me with Inuyasha movie 1 and a couple of my Rurouni Kenshin dvds. my Inuyasha movie started showing all these weird green lines around the widescreen footage but when i put it into another player it played normal. some thing similar happend with Rurouni Kenshin dvds it skipped constantly in two players of mine but worked on another one which was weird. on the other hand it was nice hearing the japenese score with the english dub of DBZ. made some of the scenes more dramatic. although i wish one of the lines was changed during the scene where Vegeta asks Goku to join him. in the original japanese version he was explaining how he couldnt beat an elite. why couldnt they say that! they did in the Budokai games. shrugs. oh well i can always replace that dialogue with the Budokai one if i want.
i tried to make a new journal entry earlier and it said access forbidden. so i tried firefox and it worked as usual. weird, both site glitches and dvd glitches on the same day. never thought that could happen. out. -

my hands hurt like crazy. ive been working on this vid for my multi media authoring class using nothing but original drawings. its basically going to be a living manga vid similar to the Scryed manga on the dvd extras. ive been coloring the drawings and inking them for a few hours now. its not looking too bad actualy. the only problem is porportion. so it kind of looks like Lupin the 3rd at points. old Lupin anyways. if the vid turns out any good i may put up for download. thats it for now. out. -

well it seems my latest video seems to have some interlacing issues. never had the problem before except with some mpeg 2 encodings. this is a first for avi. im debating wether or not to fix it or not. hell you can just plug it in vlc media player and itll take care of it. i have no problems with the interlacing on my comp. i think its because i have to encode it in vegas in the huge file then turn it over to TMPEG and encode it in the smaller file. i havent found the options in there to get rid of interlacing for xvid videos. found it for mpeg but not avi. well now to go off to watch more Baki dvds. before i go i shall leave you with some quick comments.

maybe i should add a surgical warning? well thats it for now. out. - Baki dvds 2007-01-22 16:41:38 well my Baki the Grappler dvds came today horray! i have the first season of the series. now i just have to wait for the next box set to come out when ever that does. the box set was pretty cheap too about 30 bucks while the retail price was about 60 bucks. and the best thing about them is there official dvds not that bootleg crap. horray for Baki dvds. umm yah. out.
