JOURNAL: Deshrill

  • Long Time No AMV 2004-10-11 13:51:58 Hey, it's been a while, for all the 2 people out there that are reading this. I am currently cutting together an AMV that is shaping up to be a more dramatic piece-- and this time, it will be full length. New hard drives are so cool! ^__^
  • I'm Back! 2004-03-25 14:12:04 Not sure if anyone cares, but I'm back to the AMV group... I've had a lot more experience with digital video editing since last time, so I'll suck less! :)

I just uploaded a new vid titled ".Hack in the Shell" and will upload another one soon.
  • Damn... 2002-11-23 23:27:34 To free up what little hard drive space I have left, I accidently deleted the video clips I was using to create some new AMV's, making all my work go down the drain.

I guess getting more experience in Premiere made it worth it. The ideas weren't quite enough for a full length video anyway!
  • Current Editing Projects 2002-10-18 08:28:13 Just wanted to let whoever out there that reads this journal what I'm working on...

I have around 30 seconds cut of an AMV idea using footage of "Berserk" to Offspring's "Pretty Fly For A White Guy". I don't have a whole lot of footage to use for it as of yet... Not sure if I'm going to make a fake promotional trailer for it (like, "Berserk-- now out on DVD" or something)or wait until I can capture more footage for it.

I also have around 20 second edited using clips from the infamous "Yatta" video (if you haven't seen it, don't ask... just search for it on Google and you should find it-- it's a weird live-action Japanese music video) to clips from "Everybody Dance Now". Not really sure if I have enough footage to cut an entire video of it, especially the way I'm cutting it timed to very small beats in the music.

Anyway, if anyone has any editing or general anime questions, send me an e-mail at
  • Intro 2002-10-17 16:00:16 Hello. This is my first journal entry. Yay.

So far, the only AMV I've done is a short trailer entitled "Excel and Menchi's Vacation", although I plan to do more... In a few months I should be getting a new hard drive.

In high school I edited around seven music videos that weren't from anime shows, but I hope to get them transferred from VHS to the computer soon and put them online. Those were edited on VHS to VHS with a control deck... Rather tedious to do it that way, really.

The software I use is Adobe Premiere 6.0 and, for the most part, it works well. Anybody wanting to try it out should download the trial version and pick up a copy of Adobe's "Classroom in a Book" from Adobe Press-- I found the tutorials useful and accurate, for the most part.
