• 2005-11-02 12:29:00 Yet another day wasted in calc...
my professor insists to show us "the way we should do it" which usually takes up 1-2 pages of notes.
More times than not there is a simple alternative...which would save us the 20 minute lecture (which ends up telling us to divide...for those of you who know this we're calculating slant [oblique] asymptotes.)
...I'm really starting to think I should have used the 4 I got on the AP calc AB test to get out of this class...

I haven't seen any great, A grade amvs lately...Color9 (Amethyst)'s Let's hear it from the boys was pretty good.
aielI_Ileia's Date Rape is the latest one to score a 9.00 or higher from me, but that was a while ago.
don't be afraid to pm me if you have some suggestions (and before anyone throws this out, I have looked at the top 10%, kindly omit any videos from the top 10%)

Thank you so much.
That's almost exaclty what I wanted to say (more scream than speak...but you get the idea)

Subtitles shouldn't be a problem if you use Legit footage.
I'm pretty sure that using downloaded footage in amvs is against the rules anyway.

Subtitles are distracting in amvs, and have no place (unless you use some of the Japanese dubbing in the amv). More times than not they don't add anything to the amv, and only give the audience another thing to have to look at. Subtitles give your audience a feeling that you didn't care enough about your creation to make it decent quality

Fansubs (and other footage of the nature including but not limited to bootlegs) are also notorious for having bad video quality, and very few people want to spend more effort trying to decipher what the video is than it takes to watch a normal amv. If you are one of the people who think that video quality doesn't matter, please pm me...I'd like you to see a specific amv and try to tell me video quality doesn't matter after watching it.
• 2005-10-27 19:51:55 just when I thought I was done I hear the news...
Global variables are bad...(set me back about 11 more hours)

Watched the first ep of Gantz today
man that stuff is wierd

My house got judged for our halloween decorating contest
(a house is made of two floors in the dorm towers here)
I think we won, no conest (we do have our own ghost after all)
It's amazing what you can do with trash bags, making tape, a blacklight, some furniture and paper...too bad I don't have a camera
• 2005-10-23 16:14:30 ...I'm sooooo close to finishing my program
the whole class got an extension on it (so I'm pretty much done a week early)
man... that was quite a program (just have 1 bug to work out)
that's what kept me busy for the whole week (spent about 20 hours on this one)

now I just have to get re-motivated to work on my amv.
working on the hardest part right now...

got a nice LCD tv...it's really nice ^_^
got a s-video cable so I can make it a second monitor for my laptop
I'd probably be watching it right now, but my roommate is still sleeping (and I'm too nice to do something to wake him up)
• 2005-10-17 18:13:14 Got my first econ exam back...
class avg...68%
not the most encouraging thing.
luckilly I got away with an 83% (stupid essay questions killed me)

Looks like more fun with c++, making a Tic Tac Toe program this week.
Almost everybody was struggling to make a function work to determine if a number was prime or not (it's a lot harder than it sounds). Keep in mind that this is my first programming course.

***AMV PROGRESS***
I realized that it is darn near impossible to find enough clips that suit my theme, so here I go changing it...again.
The theme was protection...
...let's just say that it will hardly resemble that.
I'll keep my master plan a secret for a while longer
