So nice to go home...even if it was only for two days.
I needed the break.
I had lost more of my mind than I thought I did, thinking was becoming rather difficult.
Just finished up my program, and it feels good.
...but I pretty much got it by messing around with things until it worked (instead of great problem solving know-how)
gee...that kinda sounds like how I learn how to use new programs (like when I got premiere pro) ^_^;;

...indeed a dark day...
spent two weeks on a program, only to fail...
turning in what I have will get me some points, but it sure leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
class average for my last econ exam...55.8%
not at all encouraging
good news is that I got the highest score (84%) *wipes sweat off of forehead*
seemed like my calc professor was irked today.
got 2/10 points on 1 problem for not putting the solution on the same line as the problem (I put it in the next line...where I needed it. [it was a Newton's method problem for those who care])
on a more positive note...
got another 88 on my second programming exam
average student usually drops 10-15 points on the second exam, but I got 88 on both :)
...all this programming took up the time I would have been spending on my amv
Seems like I'll be lucky to finish it before the year ends.
(just means It'll be that much better...right?)

One week till I get to go home
:D
its been about 3 months
and its felt like isolation the whole time...
despite all this time I haven't been able to work on my amv for about a month
(but that means that I'm actually somewhat challenged by my courses)
first snow of the season! (It'l get old in another month)
Gundam Seed is good...really good
I'm on disk 9 of 10 (second time through this series)...great story
I guess that I can relate to some of the characters (don't remeber who at the moment)
I wonder...does anyone else relate to a charcater in their favorite anime series?

ahh...nothing like a great demo to brighten up my day.
Sodium metal (Na) + water
I'm sure most people here know what this does, but it was still great.
My professor had a chunk about the size of a pen's cap...the only thing was that he didn't wash the metal with an organic solvent (to get all of the mineral oil off)
so he put it into the water (it was in a 1000mL beaker...and behind a glass shield)
it took a little while to get goin (cuz of the mineral oil still on it).
Then it started on fire...but about .2 seconds later it exploded.(my hypothesis is that the mineral oil leftover was trapping most of the hydrogen gas, so when it got hot it just exploded)
It shattered the beaker and sent water about 12ft into the air (along with bits of un-reacted sodium)
...it was a really good idea to put that glass shield there.
the only bad part was the mixture of vaporized water (might have been some vaporized Sodium hydroxide too...but I don't know)
good fun...good fun

People can be morons...

...I watched End of Evangelion yesterday.
It was organized by the anime club over here, so we got to use the theatre on campus to screen it.
And it was good (besides having a monkey working the movie...that guy couldn't seem to figure out when to push the "select" button)
...There was just one other thing that was wrong.
Some moron decided to bring a 5 or 6 year old girl to watch it too.
Who in their right mind would bring a young child to see End of Eva?
I wouldn't be suprised if that child is scarred for life (seeing half of Rei's head isn't very pleasant)
