JOURNAL: Kariudo (Derek )

  • 2006-10-18 17:42:48 Finished up my History exam, not too bad.
    I felt like I did well (which means either I did really good or really bad) but it drained my energy.
    The short essay part was on influence of Confucian ideals on classic Chinese society.

    Now that my midterms are done I can relax...almost not at all ^_^;
    but for tonight, a peaceful interlude with some light studying over mythbusting (Mythbusters FTW)

    I downloaded Shinodude's amv using Air, but wasn't able to give it a thorough viewing.
    I havent come across any amvs so far (maybe with the exception of Shinodude's) that use a song that fits Air like a glove.
    Now that there's a "pm this person" button over the journals anyone who knows of a good Air amv (at least a fitting song) can let me know (I don't have the time or the patience to go through a lot of amvs using one show)
  • 2006-10-16 14:12:19 Calc 3 was pretty rough... but I managed to get 110/150 on it (73%)

    still not exited about history on Wednesday.

    In other news, Video game night in the dorms tonight! DDR...and some other stuff.
    I need to finish my calc homework and programming pre-lab (hopefully this one actually works given the book's insructions) and probably some studying for history...and physics...
    I guess I have a bit of work ahead of me (not to mention the 2 hours I'm scheduled in the tutoring center tonight)...maybe I won't make it after all :(

    ...seems like journal junkies are starting to remanifest. *grabs a flamethrower*
  • 2006-10-11 14:23:15 Results:
    C++: 91/100 (a few stupid things)
    Physics 2: 49/100

    yep...Physics sucked...really bad. (almost not half bad)
    at least the whole class didn't do too hot either (class avg = 34.1%)
    that was one brutal test...

    now I get to prepare for Calc 3 (Friday) and History (next Wednesday)

    the thing that's bothering me the most about C++ this semester is the labs.
    I spend more time fixing the code that we're given than I do writing and testing my own code. I should not have to spend 3-4 hours fixing code so that I can do a 1-2 hour lab.
    The author should fire him/herself
    *shakes head in dissapointment*
  • 2006-10-05 15:09:52 Had the first of my exams for programming data structures in C++
    really glad that I didn't study for it (heck...I didn't even know it was today. Suprise everyone! POP EXAM!!!)

    HOWEVER!!!
    I have another quiz in Calc 3 tomorrow, and an exam for Physics 2...which has me a little more anxious
    (exam includes Electrostatic forces, Electric fields, Gauss's law, Electric potential, Capacitance/Resistors and RC circuts)
    I did [some] review for it (there were 3 review questions given to us) we were supposed to be able to finish it in 10 minutes...and I didn't even come close (but I did know what the questions were asking and how to solve them...really, I did)

    Had to go to an industry expo for a class today...and it went alright for me being not prepared. Spoke with reps from about 5-7 companies, and found 1 that seems like it'l help me with work experience and is within a reasonable distance from my house (Instead of from school...which is ~360 miles away from home) which is nice, since I don't have summer housing at my college...or my car
  • 2006-10-04 18:20:22 ...Nothin like sitting in the tutoring center waiting for someone to come in for computer science (I've helped 3 people to date...in 3 weeks) so I get so bored that I start typing random stuff like this and I don't know why I'm doing it but I do it anyway cuz I'm bored but it reminds me of being bored in my dorm room (where I spend nearly 100% of the time that I'm not in class) which turns out makes me more bored so I continue typing and if you're still reading this at this point I would have broken it up into more parts but typing in one huge block just suits the whole bored thing

    in other words...stuff
    I'd like for someone to come in

    ...yeah
