JOURNAL: Kariudo (Derek )

  • 2006-12-12 23:18:09 got results from the physics test...65%
    class average 55%
...would've done better (probably about 5-10% better) if I had correctly remebered one formula (horizontal distance on a screen between the center and a max/min of intensity using a source of double-slit diffraction)

trying to pound out some more of my history final...and for awhile I was in a groove. I actually feel confident in that section. length is up to 2.5 pages (need at least 5)

signed up for all of my classes for next semester:
Power of Words (to finish up my humanities requirement)
Basic Engineering Thermodynamics (wanted to take Engineering Materials, but it filled up)
    Statics (physics for engineers)
Digital logic (added to bring my course load to 16 credits as opposed to 13)
Analytic Methods in Engineering (Calc 4 for engineers)
...Sophomores get the shaft on registration :S

1week and 2 days until I go back home
  • 2006-12-11 14:00:30 Managed to get one page of my history final done...wanted to get a little more done last night...but oh well.
get to finish up my program tonight as well. (Still have to go to the tutoring center today and Wednesday)

Physics test was...blah. No sir, I don't like it...professor had a few more copy-paste errors again (we think he just copies and pastes problems from previous classes and doesn't proofread them so there are almost always one or two mistakes).
one of the questions was on diffraction grating (which we spent all of 5-10 minutes of one lecture on)...not impressed (but through logic the question is pretty easily answered...the point is that we didn't have any practice for this type of thing)

Friggin calc prof gave us the course evaluations after class was supposed to end (we're supposed to have 20 minutes set aside in class to do these)...but the concensus was that he sucks...so I just put two of the very critical things that need fixing.

A while ago I put up my latest video on youtube...got about 56 veiws in 1.5 weeks (did better here...about twice as good) but I finally got one rating. A perfect 5 of 5 (not suprising considering the other stuff that's on the tube)...it makes me feel good, but the gratification wasn't as instant as I'd hoped (nor as plentiful)

this week is shaping up to be a...not so good one.
  • 2006-12-09 23:34:15 whew...final program is almost done (I just need some info from my TA)
didn't help that the lab that I had on the data structure that I had to use (Binary Search Tree) didn't work too well (...stupid lab book)

looks like studying for physics test after bleach tonight.
Calc 3 is on the back burner...should get started on my history paper tomorrow (or even tonight)
...definately the busiest(sp) end of semester that I've had so far.

...I wonder why I like to use elipsis marks so often.
I mean, a comma pretty much does the same thing for me...but the three periods just give out an aura of human thought.
...what? it's just me that thinks that?!?...screw you
  • 2006-12-06 14:03:39 lots of work to do...end of semester approaching (can't wait to get out of calc 3)
have to do my final project for seminar
    calc3 homework
study for physics test and final (yes, I have both. Test on monday, final on the thursday after that)
    Write 5-page paper for History
finish 3 labs and 1 program for programming

this frustration reminds me of something else.
No matter what I do, my dad never seems to be satisfied.
If I don't work, he says that I should work
When I do work he says I shoudln't work.
I'm in college and he tells me to get a job (of some kind)
when I do (I'm tutoring 4 hours a week with 16 credits this semester) he tells me to set time aside for fun.

I can't do both at the same time
...I've pretty much been ignoring what he says for years.

some really good news or something very fortunate happening would definately help me get through finals (I can do without it...but something to loosen me up would help out)
  • 2006-12-02 21:39:19 <_<
    >_>
...looks like the journal chatting is over (I'm looking at you~ Yeiweh)
man, I wouldn't have a problem with having the semester end right now.
it's getting harder and harder to motivate myself to do homework.

still have physics, seminar (due this coming thurs), programming and history
can't do seminar until I can buy a 3-ring binder

almost ready to release a beta for my current project...just need to get a section without unintentional blank space. about 10 seconds either way (beginng section or end section)

if anyone wants to do an op exchange, check out my latest...and then mention that you want an op in the op
