  • 2007-04-14 17:23:33 bah...masking is taking forever
I've already spent about 3 hours working on 1/4 of the masking for a 5 second part of my amv. (which is about 5 minutes long) @_@
this better be the best thing since sliced bread once it's done.

Continuing to watch Kannon 2006, Death Note and Negima!? (which is coming out at the rate of 1 episode per month). I highly reccomend all of them.

Got myself a bag of Dortios last night...a good move on my part.
Statics exam went pretty well, with the exeption of one problem. I'm doing pretty well in all of my classes this semester. Even in thermo where two mistakes on one of the quizes hurt me pretty badly, I'm doing alright overall.

so far today I've done about an hour of masking, and my digital logic.
I'm hoping to do my calc and finish up my statics homework...maybe laundry too if I feel like it.
But nothing will happen until I stop eating the Doritos.

random last thought: ...what the heck is nacho cheese? does it come in blocks or is it always in a viscous liquid state? what makes it different from other cheeses?
  • 2007-04-12 23:47:37 Got done making an animated bumper for my studio (well...technically it isn't my studio...but I'm the only active member :/ )
made it from scratch. Only 16 frames (about half of them were cut out to make it look more realistic) all done in inkscape...but that still takes some skill and patience.

I should have been studying a bit for my exam tomorrow, but I'm feeling good about how I'll perform. Spending time relaxing before an exam (instead of cramming) can help.
For the first exam, I think I thought so hard that I almost passed out. (More like I was concentrating so much on the exam that I forgot about breathing ^_^;; )
with a little luck it won't happen again tomorrow.

I swear...one of these days I will be on skype
    just not today

looking like a light load homework-wise this weekend
  • 2007-04-11 16:44:32 blech...they say it's only a winter storm warning...but I think it should be a blizzard warning. You can't see further than about a block, winds are right around 30mph too.
no fun trying to walk through that stuff.
...also no fun trying to solve equilibrium problems with friction without actual numbers.

I did alright on the thermo quiz (62/75), now I just have to worry about the statics exam on friday.

I got bored (again) yesterday, so I did some random searching and came across this program (not free unfortunately) that lets me change the windows xp theme.
my current theme is called chocolate (after the cell phone made by LG electronics)
cool stuff I tells ya. so my theme looks more like vista than xp (glows red when I mouse over/click stuff)
I got an icon pack called "alpha distra" that I know I can use after the trail program(s) expire

might get some more planning done for my amv, maybe.
I also might be on skype...perhaps
I don't have to get up early tomorrow, which is always good news

my last thought for now is...I have none. I did a lot of thinking in the class I just came from, gotta wait for the cooldown timer before I can think some more
  • 2007-04-10 13:56:33 hmm...I wonder what's with these recent "early" entries from me lately.
    logo = approved
I think it would be cool to make it into the finals (even cooler if my logo wins...but I'm trying not to get my hopes up)

finally started the planning for my next amv. got about half of it layed out (first pass, knowing myself, I'll probably go back and revise a few times)
Once again I find myself focusing on the main character(s), which will probably end up in me finding a lot less footage than I thought I would have found.
I can't really say that there's a theme yet...or if there will be one

IEEE meeting tonight, so I'll have to miss out on my digital logic discussion again (I'll live...somehow. *cough*)

last thought for now: counting the days you have left to something you look forward to always makes it feel longer. For example, I have no clue how many days of class I have left this semester. In middle school/part of high school I would join in on the countdown every year (started from somewhere around 60 or 50)
the weeks started to drag on seemingly longer and longer.
Now, for me at least, in college my weeks seem to pass rather quickly (probably due to the way my schedule is set up this semester, and I have several weekly or bi-monthly events to look forward to)

Just throwing some stuff together now from what I just said to make the schoolyear seem to go by faster.
1: Try to avoid putting most of your classes on consecutive days. (ex, class 1, 2 and 3 on tuesday, and class 3, 4 and 5 on wed) This may mean that you have a class on friday, but it feels much better to alternate short and long days
2: Look for regularly scheduled things that don't require a lot of work/commitment. I like to watch House M.D. on tv on tuesdays, Mythbusters on Wed, I have anime club on Thursdays, and I watch toonami/[adult swim] on Saturday night
3: STOP COUNTING DOWN THE DAYS TO [insert event here]. you can be around other people counting down...just don't do it yourself
  • 2007-04-09 14:06:32 today is much better that the past few days.
I suspect that not eating had a big role in my semi-depressed type mood

just got back from my thermo quiz, and I feel like I did really well on it (which is a good thing. I still might have a shot at a good grade)
With a little work I should be able to finish up my thermo hw and start on my statics.
if all continues to go well I might get started on amv planning (to WC Annihilus: no I haven't started yet, marathon on saturday and hw/studying for exams/quizes since Friday)

about 6 weeks before classes are out and I'm back home (4 weeks 6 days until class is done). I still haven't gotten into the EE core classes, so that pretty much means I'm not qualified for internships...so it's back to pizza hut for me over the summer

last thought for now: some people just can't take a hint...if you've been following the drama in the mep area the last few days you know what I'm talking about. In the brilliant conclusion, the person that was the center of the drama was talking big, but didn't put out.
I tried to watch that file...but it was encoded with some HD codec which isn't the easiest to download (not a crack...just difficult to find/download unless I wanted to install a new program). It was just over a 73 seconds...interlaced and 107MB
I can only imagine how this crushing defeat must've felt
