finally, some people who can actually think for themselves (Poolfan and Julia-the-Great)
So far the only step my school has taken was to send an email to every student.
I already knew what it was going to say, even before I read it (and what a suprise...I was right)
well, it happened yet again. I'm actually to the point where I no longer choose to avoid confrontations (it takes a great bit of effort to do that). Last night at 1:30 that guy in the room next to mine was listening to a news report about the shooting, and I could hear every word of what was being said.
He is dead set that he has a right to talk in his room whenever he feels like it, even if it disturbing my sleep.
the wall between our rooms is thin, but I have reason to believe that I am able to talk, play videogames, edit amvs and watch tv without him hearing it in his room. If that is true, then the reverse should be easy to expect.
He certainly does have a right to talk in his room, but I should not have to loose sleep because of it, especially not after midnight
during the confrontation last night we agreed to set up a meeting with our RA

...and I ended up not going to that meeting.
turns out they wanted people to bring resumes as well...which mine is lacking a bit of meat.
got stuck on some homework problems, but everything was cleared up today...so I should do that...at some point...after I watch more code Geass
not looking forward to the fire drill at 8pm tonight :s
ALI Project is catching my attention...they have a wierd style, but there's just something about the vibes I get from hearing their stuff that makes it really interesting.
I know that they've done the closing theme for .hack//roots (and a few other songs on that soundtrack)
when I started code Geass I thought that the ending theme sounded somewhat familiar...turns out ALI Project did the first closing theme for that too.
going through some of my music, I found that they also did the opening for Noir
last thought: come on...now we have people in op ex trying to get opinions on boochsack vids? COMMON SENSE PEOPLE! you don't walk into a Burger King to eat your McDonalds food...why would you ask for an opinion on a video hosted exclusively on a competing site (the video hasn't been entered here)?
if humanity was on the verge of extinction...this would not make me want to save humanity. I have lost yet more faith in humanity, it seems like the people out to get you vastly outnumber those who try to help

Code Geass is so deliciously evil that I can almost not help but laugh maniacally
>:-3
this series hits the spot right now.
we got a little thunderstorm action here this morning, moderate rain and a little bit of thunder. It seemed to have caught most people off gaurd (as I did not see that many umbrellas)
I should probably do some homework before I call it a night though.
I hope I won't have to remind a particular suitemate of mine that yelling (or having friends of theirs yelling) until 2am is unnacceptable again tonight.
in a mildly suprising turn of events, I will be attending an information session about an internship opportunity. Chances are that I will not be able to do it (even if I do qualify) because I have no arrangements for housing nor transportation. (I assume that it's fairly close to school, which is 400miles or ~600km away from my home)
oh yeah...and they are having a raffle for a nintendo DS
last thought for now: metric system pwns imperial system. end of story.
SI pwns English Engineering units as well (pretty much the same thing)
Kelvin owns Rankine...the Rankine temperature scale is supposed to be an absolute temperature scale based on the most nonsensical temperature scale in existance (degrees farenheit...or however it's spelled)
the conversion from *F to R is something like R = *F + 467.58

revelation!
I might actually be spending 2 hours doing homework/studying for every hour of class (not counting discussions, since we go over lecture material in those...no assignments really)
it just feels that I need to be spending more time studying...especially with how much time I spend online/watching anime.
not sure how I feel about that though.
Finished watching kanon 2006. Good stuff, I liked Mai's arc the best. I wasn't expecting the ending at all. The character design (and the school uniforms) were great...animation/artwork was top-notch. Soundtrack was meh...but the story is so absorbing that you forget about that.
It's nice to see a series like that every now and then...but now I need some violence >:D
so it looks like I'll be watching a mecha...and as a bonus, I hear that there are lots of pizza hut pizzas ordered (those writers know where to get the good stuff ;D )
If you can't guess what series I'm talking about...I guess you'll just have to wait and see if I write a short review of it once I'm done
I may yet do some more masking tonight...any bets for how long it'l take for me to finish that 5-second segment?
it'l be a rough etsimate...as I'm not keeping strict time. right now I'm about halfway done at ~6 hours

looking like another sleepless night tonight...though the odds were not in my favor last night where 1 drunken moron waltzed into my room (opened the door...said, "oh", and promptly left) and 2-3 drunken morons wanted to chat with another drunken moron in the other double room in my suite. at 4:30am and again at 5:30
Needless to say, drunken morons are not the quietest nor most courteous bunch.
And people wonder why you have to be 21 to drink. It's night's like those that make me feel that you should have to wait until you're 28 or 30 to drink (and that underage drinkers should be given life sentences...or some other equally strict punishment)
about half of the masking for that 5 second segment is done...up to 6 hours on it now.
while masking on Saturday I almost had an emergency. Laptop got up to 60*C
the ambient temp is rather warm most of the time, and the area where my laptop is is pretty cramped. (I had an external drive, speaker satelites, mah wii and a 20-inch tv crammed into about 3 feet of desk space) but that's much worse than usual (which is around 45*C at school...35*C at home)
I moved the external to a shelf and the airflow seems to be quite a bit better.
I have a targus chillpad...but it does jack for my laptop besides lifting it a little higher off of the desk. (any suggestions welcome)
...it really sucks that it takes anywhere from half an hour (on a very good night) to 4 and a half hours (like last night) to fall asleep.
*is wide awake, and has been since noon, after a fruitless night*
