...I hate it how we waste so much time in digital logic, and then we end up not covering everything we need to know to do the homework. Half of each class is spent reviewing what we went over in the previous lecture.
I finished my thermo, am stuck on one question in statics, did most of my calc and as much of digital logic as I could. So, feeling fairly confident about my homework situation I decided to edit a little more.
in the first 25 seconds of my amv I have 19 video layers (it's a lot of A-B type stuff that probably wouldn't look the same if I had it go from B to A...that and I think the transition needs the A part below the B part)
so I got an idea for where I was stuck, got it done...hit preview...
...
...and premiere made my system hang again. That kinda ended my editing for the night
I guess even huffy is too much. Time to pull out the big guns. I just have to re-encode my clips with picvideo mjpeg and switch them with my huffy clips once I'm done (which hopefully I'll be working with this on my desktop back home by then)
well minions...hast thou triedeth mine challenge?
I finally beat hard, and then I preceded to beat really hard as well
I have brought honor to my family (somehow)
blue trialer made 1000 hits, star rating is on the rise too (it's been fluxuating between my highest and lowest rated video. now settling in at about 3.52-ish)
the hits and downloads keep coming...nearing 3 months after I uploaded it.
Maybe it's being spread by word of mouth...maybe it's the beginning of name recognition, or maybe it's Yue and Yeiweh downloading it about 15 times every 2 weeks
I have to remember to register Tuesday morning for classes, or I'll have to do some quick resceduling.
Finals I'm kinda concerned about: Thermodynamics, Calc 4
Finals I'm not so concerned about: Power of Words, Statics, Digital Logic
Finals I want to take: uhh....none, if it wouldn't affect my grade
turns out that I'm not going to be helping my grandpa set up his computer, oh well.
got some other news today that's not too great...but I'm not too worried about it.
Even if it was life threatening it probably wouldn't hit me too hard. If it turns out that way then my reaction will probably be "meh...whatever" then other people would say, "aren't you/shouldn't you be scared" I'd probably reply, "no, not really" and then someone would get the great idea to send me to a counselor because my lack of care over something that important is "unhelathy".
which reminds me of the last time something like that happened. I was in middle school when my parents got divorced. Sad, yes...but I got over it and appeared to be none worse. Someone decided that I should se a support group, not telling me anything about such a plan. So one day in band I get a notice to go somewhere. I wasn't sick, I wasn't in trouble that I knew of, just seemed to be random. I was having an alright day (not good, but better than normal) up to that point. So when I was brought to the room where this support group was being held I was kinda confused.
After that I just got mad, it is a big deal when your parents get divorced...but just because I'm not lashing out at people or crying day in/day out doesn't mean that I'm unhealthy (I was still doing well in class as well...no tanking grades here)
I'm sure it was just a precaution, and probably a good one to take...but I think that it was a generic response by whoever made the decision without much consideration of the specific situation

@sky
I smelled it first...ever since the "VP6 is the best" comment in the amv announcements thread.
Forum drama is getting old...
ordered pizza again tonight, good stuff.
still have to finish the crust (with garilc sauce)
I can see the light at the end of the tunnel...too bad that I have a large load of homework to do. Good thing I also have tomorrow to work on it. Getting some wierd answers though.
Not looking like I'll get to work on my amv this weekend
quick stats for blue trailer: (hopefully this'l stay formatted so you can actually make sense of it)
hits: 992
QCs: 5 orig capture audio sync lip digi-fx effort review overall
ops: 17 op avgs: 8.31 9.54 10.00 8.31 0.00 8.62 8.92 7.23 8.54

total downloads: 192
so close to 1000 hits and 200 dls
my mind is blank right now...it's been happening more and more.
but I do have a last little thing to say:
this game is hard and addictive...I have wasted precious hours trying to prove myself to this tiny, insignificant little flash game.
...I've almost beaten hard...almost

I command my minions to give it a shot

got the results of my calc exam back.
81% lower than the last one...but I know why I got most of the points deducted
...I dunno what I was thinking... (x^2+7x+11) != (x+7)^2 -38
if I had used (x+7/2)^2 -5/4 I would've gotten the problem right
historically this exam has covered the hardest material in the course...overall I'm content with my 81% (avg was somewhere around 65%)
did a little more editing today (I don't think I mentioned that I fixed it...turns out lagarith was too cpu intensive, so I had to re-encode with huffy...good thing they're both lossless)
I'm at a point where I don't know how to use the old stuff while finishing up what I started before that point, it'l come to me sometime.
finally got my uxtheme.dll properly patched, right now my skin is a dark, non-transparent vista inspired set.
played some more super paper mario, got another pure heart, next task is to find the next heart pillar. The green heart chapter involves a nerd...with dating sim references, anime references, comic book references, rpg references and video game references. It was kinda amusing, but it seemed to be hyper-stereotypical
last thing for now: sometimes my grandpa just makes no sense. Awhile ago my dad and brother dropped off an old computer (new hard drive though) with win2k, win2k SE or win ME (can't remember which) on it.
My brother spent time making screenshots so that my grandpa could just look at those to remember how to do specific operations.
For some reason, that computer wasn't good enough...so my grandpa decided to get a very nice prebuilt computer that came with Vista and a 22 inch lcd monitor.
He has no dvds
He has no mp3s
He has dial-up
...this computer has way too much for his needs, and on top of it...my brother's instructions don't carry over to Vista.
It's looking like my dad and I will be stopping by on our way back home in 2 weeks to help him out. I'm sure I'll enjoy it...but the point is that my grandpa makes no sense sometimes

got up at 7am for the last time this semester.
actually slept pretty well last night, woke up without being sleepy still.
statics discussion went really fast yesterday, me and the other person in my group finished the excersize by about 1:45pm (discussion starts at 1pm, and about 15-20 minutes are spent on preparation for the excersize)
that got me really pumped, I came back to my dorm, browsed the org a bit and then did some homework.
I finished that pretty quick (got it right the first time too), I got even more pumped.
started to do some more homework, it's along the lines of what I did in discussion. Two problems out of 4 done...even more pumped.
I decided to start editing my video, got a little done and my mood was still good...but then premiere pro 1.5 decided it didn't want to work.
I would try to render a preview, and it would cause my system to hang. I'm not doing anything overly complex and I'm using lagarith encoded footage. (render codec is huffy)
so between uninstalling stuff to try and fix the problem and going on a bunch of side searches I kinda lost my motivation... :/
after effects works fine...might just have to edit with AE.
Laptops aren't really meant to run high(er)-end editing programs, but mine was doing a fine job...wonder what's goin on.

...have you nominated logos yet?
no?
THEN WHY ARE YOU READING THIS? GO NOMINATE LOGOS (and then come back)
...don't make me put godix in a bunny suit.
uggh...I'm not much of a morning person. Yesterday morning we had saftey inspections. Usually we're given about a week's notice, this time...it was a 1 minute notice.
So when they came bustin down the doors at 9am I wasn't too thrilled >:/
I still had about an hour to sleep...
calc exam went alright, now I just have to make it through my thermo quiz later this morning. We get to bring 1 sheet of equations, I was hoping to fit every equation onto 1 sheet of paper, and it looks like I'll be able to do it too.
tomorrow is the last time that I need to get up for my 8am discussion...I look forward to getting more sleep.
gotta run off to class now (which starts in about 14 minutes)
...pretty much just wanted to tell ya to nominate logos
