in an attempt to make sure I get a full nights sleep before going into work at 8:45 Monday I've been staying up 3 hours later every night.
the schedule got messed up, but I'll be able to manage.
I'm hoping that I messed up my sleep schedule enough to "reset" it as it were...we'll see what happens on Monday.
Birthday coming up (this Thursday)...even though I asked for it off from work about 2-3 weeks ago I still got scheduled :/
good thing there's someone I know who will pick it up for me.
to help me stay up in the morning I got F.E.A.R
good game so far, a bit tough at places (like when I had to get through the parking garage with 25 health and no medkits, was running out of ammo as well)...but I've managed to get through everything in a few tries.
I was surprised to find that the recommended video card is the one I have...especially since almost all of the video card reviews I read use FEAR as a benchmark (GeForce 6600). I'm getting about 25fps avg, scoping out a 7600 or 7800 on sale on newegg.
Got the second limited edition box of haruhi on thurs as well.
haven't been motivated to work on my mep segment lately, though I think I had another revelation about making amvs that should make it easier to edit
more drama at work, but I didn't have to deal with it this time...which just reminded me of the lan party I went to last week. 7 people (6 laptops, 1 desktop) trying to play over a 108 MBps wireless-g network doesn't work so well. Luckily we had my 4 port router (and another one that wasn't mine) so we had 3 routers connected to give us enough ports. It worked out surprisingly well, no lag, no fires or explosions either. The first game we played I actually managed to win (I was almost eliminated pretty early on, and a few times after that...somehow managed to hang on) -

in a moment of randomness I decided that I wanted to try to write a program (or something) that can give information on .mp4 files (and others depending on how well the .mp4 one went)
whenever you see a local link, there is always information that pops up under it...and it's pretty incomplete for .mp4 among other things.
so I started looking around for information, trying to figure out how information is gathered for other filetypes. I came up with nothing...not one article relating to getting information like bitrate, duration, codec, size, etc...
if anyone can enlighten me I'd appreciate a pm.
Today was a good day to stay inside. it got up to 97F here today (not including heat index). I'm really glad I didn't have to go anywhere in my car with no ac.
Got my reservations for AWA made not too long ago, and everything looks good. (oh yeah, for those who didn't see my thread, ima goin to AWA. I figured it was a good way to spend my tax refund)
Hopefully I'll seek to meet some of ya instead of hiding amongst the other otaku like I did at Anime Detour -

I took my laptop over to my dad's house...and it shut down again.
I have no idea what could be wrong now...I'm running around in circles.
Today at work I got to:
-be blamed for another employee's incompetence (sp)
-edit some employee information
-help fill out new employee forms
-write a 1 page report of the morning's happenings
-make some creative changes to the week's schedule
tons of fun...I work on Wed and Thurs, so I get to sleep in tomorrow.
I finally was tired enough last night to go to sleep at about 11pm local time, hopefully this will put me on a more "normal" sleep schedule
I have a bad feeling that it's only a matter of time before I loose some important work because of these random shutdowns, I really hope I can figure out what's happening before then. -

alright, so after my laptop has randomly shut down on me 2 or 3 times tonight I'm ready to say that my problem lies in my surge protector.
I thought I would be safe with this model...guess not.
Now I get to ask for a nicer one for my birthday :/
beta finally ready for gateway, things settling down at work a bit...still can't get to sleep before 3am though.
got the bill for room+board today. I should be able to pay for it and all the awa stuff...but that's about it. Pizza hut doesn't give me a living wage, I might have to start taking out the student loans of doom pretty soon.
Last thought for now: I need to get some new music. The stuff I have is good, but I don't have that much, more to choose from could benefit me.
Any suggestions?

and the "fun" at work continues, more of the same.
We've been abnormally busy lately, which I think is due to the add that our store is running in addition to a full page add across the country.
I work 5 days this week, and my boss comes back tomorrow.
Not looking forward to this, something is going to hit the fan (I'm hoping I'll come out unscathed)
My desktop is acting strange...it'l just shut off completely (usually when I was doing x.264 encodes, but I was able to complete a fairly rigorous 3-pass not too long ago)
after consulting a few computer people I know, I borrowed a multimeter and tried to test my psu. I was only able to test the pci-e and molex connectors, but the readings were normal (as was the voltage coming out of the wall)
still confused, and a bit reluctant to do much work on it right now
all of this means I haven't been able to work on anything amv-related :/
