@shino
Minneapolis perhaps?
that'd put you pretty close to my (home) area...maybe I'll see you at anime detour next year
family reunion was...well...a reunion.
lots of people way older than me, less people (but still a good number) way younger than me. Nobody really my age.
that means that I didn't really have anything to say to anyone...which made for a lot of standing around and sitting around.
There was one obscure relation that worked in a similar field that I plan to work in, so I chatted with him for awhile.
one week til I'm back at school, still need supplies (and I forgot about having to buy books...wonder how that'l work out. Not getting any more money since I quit work...not like I was getting much anyway)
Looking forward to AWA, storming the cheesecake factory, all that good stuff.
I'll be sending all the people staying in my room final price, arrival time, etc once I get settled in the dorms.
last thought: yay for free wireless internet at hotels (which made this entry possible). I've been using dialup for most of the summer, so even wireless b seems fast (I haven't downloaded anything though)

@bashar
yes, 2000+ is a lot
my best is blue trailer at somewhere around 240...I'll get somewhere...sometime
I have no idea how well known I am, but if the journal is any indication then I'm probably about average
@beth
new slogan for ya: corrupting the minds of the org 10k times over
getting frustrated with trying to work on amvs and getting nowhere...so I started another one. So I spent most of friday ripping, indexing and scripting. I started editing today.
Total length of amv: 3:38
completed: 0:42 (with some gaps in that)
I'm aiming for 1 minute before I call it a day. I was in the zone until I hit the chorus...I know what I want to do next but need to think about what clips to use.
Finished FEAR Extraction Point not too long ago. The game is pretty much the only thing that's made me jump/scared in who knows how long.
Now that I had to dig through some of my first series I've become interested in watching them again. Looks like I'll have plenty to do until I go back to college, and it'l probably carry over to my dorm

went to see the Bourne Ultimatum this afternoon
I liked it. It's been getting harder and harder for movies to earn my respect, but this one was well made in my opinion (even though I can't remember the previous 2 movies in the series). Lots of action, not too much plot development/devices (I would've liked more), and a style that reminded me of F.E.A.R. (though significantly less sick, depraved , evil, etc...)
I did get windows recovery console to work, fixed the mbr and averted having another interesting experience with the disk-formatting cannon (and then trying to re-install XP on my raid array, it took me a week to get it right last time)
all of this brought me one small step closer to running fedora 7 (grub now hangs at stage 2 instead of 1.5. No error message either)
stormy night tonight. Lots of lightning, some wind and a bit of much needed rain.
in a matter of minutes a severe thunderstorm warning turned into a tornado warning...and it was heading straight for where I am. But then, just as quickly, it fell apart and was downgraded to a "severe thunderstorm" by the time it got here.
about 2.5 weeks before I'm back at school (still haven't gotten the tuition invoice...stupid state legislature)
Family reunion coming up as well. I know exactly what's going to happen. It's the one question all college students get asked over and over. "So, how are things going at college?" coupled with, "What are you studying?"
I'm tempted to come up with a different answer for every person who asks me. So far the other possibilities I've come up with (so far) are Particle Physics and Animal Nutrition...maybe I should add something like film studies to the list
last, but random, thought for the moment:
My profile here comes up as #6 on a google search for "Kariudo" coming in behind the Stock Kanji site, some bs entry in the urban dictionary, and Kariudo-kun on deviantart.
My secondary screenname (Kariudo Sanjuro) puts me in the top 4 google spots
My preffered alias (Sanjuro) which was taken when I got here in 2005 doesn't even show up
I have one more name I use...but feel like keeping it to myself :3
for those who don't know already, here's the short version of how I chose my name

...I almost killed my laptop and desktop in one fell swoop.
I managed to bring both back to their previous states...but that still leaves me with a problem on my desktop.
prepare the disk-formatting cannon! (if I can't solve this myself I'll probably end up doing this)
I've already backed up all the important stuff including my mep segment
my last hope is to get windows recovery console to work so I can fix my mbr
@WC:
...I care. I don't have many other people that I can talk compu-geek-ese to
