*grabs some popcorn*
shh...the good part is coming up
In other news:
-The student government here hates the anime club...which means more work ahead for AMKE. *sigh* No longer do I wonder why con chairs only last 2-3 years
-I'm actually enjoying one of my classes this semester. It's a little bit of work, but the lecture makes me feel like I know what I'm doing and has good design tips here and there. Homework isn't graded. Lab work reinforces lecture and for the most part I am getting a lot more out of it this semester than in previous semesters
right now, I feel that I could really use...

@Knowname:
bad cheesecake may be bad, but Amtrak cheesecake is awesome
More busy times ahead. Looks like I know the source of this year's amke con drama.
Got two lab reports done, so now I need to study for my Electronics II exam...and my Databases exam...and my Electronics design project...and my materials homework.
I can only imagine how next semester is gonna be.
17 credits, 6 of those being graduate credits (because of the awesome program at my school to get more engineering grad students)

So I was hanging out in the IEEE-CS office like I usually do, and this professor type comes to the door and asks if we want some old computers.
One is missing a hard drive and the other won't boot windows.
I make an executive decision and accept the rigs
So I throw in a fedora 10 live cd and see what's going on with the non-booting one.
Mount the ntfs drive, dive into the Windows folder...and System32 is gone.
Well, the folder was there but it didn't appear to have anything in it (but when I tried to delete it I got errors saying that it wasn't empty.)
Renamed the system32 folder, copied the system32 folder off of another computer (running from an ubuntu live cd so I could get at system32) and replaced the bad one on the non-booting rig...still no go.
So I gave up and wiped the drive then installed fedora 10 on it.
Now the question is...what do I do with an old P4 that has fedora 10, 30GB disk space and 4GB ram? (it's a dell something or other)

@Knowname: Server motherboards usually have 12 DIMM slots or so, but with Intel's Core I7 (which can utilize triple channel ram) you started seeing consumer level motherboards with 6 DIMM slots. So 6 x 2GB can get you 12GB
As for what you would use that for...Maya or some other 3D or CAD software I suppose
Or if you want to run a few IE8 tabs :P
Played some more Lost Odyssey after one AMKE related meeting and before the other AMKE related meeting (so lucky, 2 meetings in a day). Decided it was time to go to the final boss type place. Yeah, I'm ready to completely annihilate the final boss.
I should probably go ahead and do that, before stuff happens.
Yeah

@Cornwiggle: Lern 2 convert much gooder :|
Old Chinese proverb...to play the amv, you must be smarter than the container/format that holds it
Seems like my days off are filling up on their own (almost, I still gotta give them a little nudge)
I have a meeting with the events and reservations office at my Uni tomorrow (regarding Anime Milwaukee)
Lunch with a stranger that wants advice on starting their own con sometime in the next few days (maybe)
Fun timez ahead on Sunday (I hope)
In other news: Just happened to catch my suitemates at a good time last night, and we ended up talking for an hour or so. They seem like cool guys, and despite me not sharing really any interests with them maybe this year I'll actually be able to be friends (somewhat) with them instead of having to worry if I'll actually be able to get the sleep I need when I need it.
...as a side note, the thing that's been cutting my sleep short so far this year is a bunch of guys redoing a roof pretty much right next to the dorms at 7am -_-
Finally finished grinding the rest of my party in Lost Odyssey. Started out at the temple of enlightenment with my primary members at about 60 and my secondary members at 30. My immortals are all pretty much 90+ now, while the other guys are around 65. It made Ancient Spirit Magician Fu pretty easy (took him down in about 4-5 turns.) Leveller + double cast = pwn.
Now I'm trying to track down some dreams, mysteriously hard to find spells like groundus and aquaus and hidden treasure chests
