As it is with new beginnings, I'm really looking forward to constructing this most recent project. It'll be the Structuralist piece I intended to make months and months ago, but what never saw the light of day. Woo.

Starting over

With renewed vigor, I’ve decided to get back on the saddle and begin work on a new project. Perhaps because I need some creative outlet in my starkly bourgeois life, or even the possibility a muse of inspiration decided to strike me...either way, I’m going to have a little fun with this one.

Indefinitely

I think I’m going to have to put this current project I’m working on, on hold. It's an awful shame, but I think it's for the best. I have my reasons, those being, I’ve my actual film projects to work on over the autumn that involve a high order of digital manipulation and the time that'll take to master and work through.
The other key reason that I’m delaying work on this project is it falls far outside the boundaries of this community. Aside from the anime compositing plates I’ve selected; almost half of its make-up is of stock World War II footage, and some more current war footage, all packaged together in an experiential construct.
I shouldn't get too down on myself though, it could be worse. I could be producing commercial gibberish with no meaning at all. At least in my own ways…
I’m still fighting the good fight.

And the travesty called editing continues unabated:

I can't help but wonder if maybe the concept of suturing time wasn't a big mistake in the first place, hell, feminist theory makes constant note to this very fact. Film suturing is most disgusting, and who are we to sow together a subject reality, honestly. Dogme95 had it right, (though commercial success has otherwise to say) when it decided to abandon conventional filmmaking. I think it would do us all good to go back to the days of actualities, like Lumiere and Company produced, or even better, to Melies' direct stage techniques he employed in "From the Earth to the Moon"...
So I’ve been continuing on my editing....I’m a slave to convention.
Boo.

As it is with all things, this community is built up of a vastly encompassing survey of people. I think that's why I lose faith in it so much. Everything being relative, it seems seldom two people have similar agendas.
I think it's best if maybe I get my head strait and get mine own cleared through. Otherwise I’m going to be going in circles indefinitely.
