  • Spring Break! 2002-03-21 21:24:48 Finally! Spring break is here! I couldn't wait one more minute for it! It was just murdering me over and over again. Well, I started it out by playing some Final Fantasy IX. Since I restarted my game, I've found some more things with my characters having a lot more levels. We're about to go into the Ice Cavern, so it shouldn't be too hard. I guess I'll be playing it some more after I get offline and done with my video editing for today. I'm hoping that by morning I'll be right back at the Festival of the Hunt. This time I'm going to win! I probably won't start playing it until 1 or 2 am. It seems like a reasonable time to start. I'll have a good 5 hours to play it then.

Hopefully, this weekend I'll be finishing up my video. I'm going to have to work extra hard to do it though. I've finished all of the images, so the real, only hard thing I have to do is put in the main scenes. It can't be too hard. I just have to time it out correctly. There's not much else that I could do about it.

Oh, if anyone is looking for today's information about anime news. It's in my last entry. I made one earlier today, so I just decided to put some information about Viz Communication's "Gundam: The Complete Guide" in it. It's worth taking a look into, if you're a Gundam fan. It'll be worth the money. Good information as a decent price. I suggest that people buy it.

Well, I guess that's it. I have to get back to video editing. I really want to get at least some work done tonight. I didn't do any yesterday, so I have to catch up!

  • Information 2002-03-21 15:14:33 Well, for some reason, more people have been viewing my Journal since I've started to give out certain information about Final Fantasy XI. I guess now that I'll give some information about the Gundam series, since it's becoming more popular. Viz Communications has decided to finally release their long awaited "Gundam: The Official Guide." It's be under their Animerica Magazine banner, which will hopefully create a more spread out consumer buying for them. It's 128 pages of pure Gundam information written by Mark Simmons and Banjamin Wright. It'll be priced around $12.95 with 12 pages of production history, an 84-page story guide, 5 pages of side story info, 8 pages of science & history background info, and 15 pages of merchandise info. It's expected to come out in April this year.

Well, as for my music video, I wasn't able to work on it yesterday, because I couldn't get on the computer. I really have to follow ErMaC's guide with all of the deinterlacing junk. I also would like to finish it this weekend, since my spring break started today. After that, I need to upload all of my music videos to my new host. They'll all be in MPEG format, so it'll be cool. I really need to figure out how to make VCDs and such. It'll help out with distribution of my music videos to my friends a lot.

I'll post back in here later, because I really want to go play Final Fantasy IX. I restarted my game yesterday, because I didn't search around enough at the beginning and missed some key things. I'm not sure what I missed though, but I just want to search around a bit more. I didn't really do a lot of it then. I just went straight through the Ice Cavern without really thinking. I also need to level up more for the Festival of the Hunt. I really like Lindblum. It's an amazing city. Maybe I'll make it one day! Aim high, just like...

  • Responses 2002-03-20 17:15:46 For like one of the first times ever, I've gotten a response to a Journal entry that I wrote in here. I couldn't believe it. It was in response to the Journal entry that I wrote a couple of days ago about that how true smartness does not come from a person's IQ, but from common sense. Here's the entire e-mail that the person sent me. I have not asked the person that I could post his/her e-mail, so I will keep it confidential.

    ~Hi Spehiroth

~Just thought I'd drop a line to say I agree with what you wrote in your ~journal:
~"...common sense is what makes a person smart, not his IQ."

~It gels pretty much with what I've believed much of my life:
~common sense = accessible; results in your being street wise

~Having knowledge does not necessarily amount to wisdom.

    ~Well, something like that.

Well, I was very surprised that I even go an e-mail. I really only get e-mails from the people that I send them to. It's an honor to recieve an e-mail with an opinion. I love to see people's opinions to things. I hope that when I write in the future, that more people will respond to it.

  • Gimme the Goods! 2002-03-19 22:11:51 -- http://www.squaresource.com/news766.htm That'sa good page summarizing what SquareSoft is planning to do with Final Fantasy XI. It'll be online only, making it a monthly fee for the characters and play time. There probably more information about it at PlayOnline.com. Mostly, Square is just testing the game out right now. For some reason, the testers have extremely good hardware. If those are the requirements to play the game, then I can say for sure that it's going to be a flop. No one will really upgrade their computer just to play a game, let alone Final Fantasy. They should be making final preparations for their release very soon. I think that they've fallen behind a bit though. Who know when it'll be released?

My video is coming along. I just finished taking about an hour and a half to put the images into the video. I need to plan just a little more to make sure that I hvae enough clips and stuff for the main video. All of the images are just a background slide show type effect for the main video. It'll be interesting to see how this turns out. As of right now, my music video is looking pretty good to be done by at least Monday, if not sooner. I'm trying to play Final Fantasy as fast as I can, but I think I may actually have to restart, because I didn't search around enough at the beginning. As soon as I finish the game, then I'll probably turn it into a music video. Hopefully, it'll beat AtomX's In The End. I'm pretty sure that this Final Fantasy VIII music video that I'm cureently working on will do it. There's no other non-anime music video that I've seen like before. I'm not too worried about beating other people though. I want to be a good video editor and mostly just want people to watch it.

I have two more days until spring break. I really can't wait any longer for it.

  • Ze Journal iz ze first zing in ze mind of ze Sephiroth! 2002-03-18 21:22:44 The title of the this one mean's The Journal is the first thing in the mind of the Sephiroth. Someone like Dr. Odine would probably say that. Well, I found this bit of news for Final Fantasy fans. As many people know, Final Fantasy XI will be an online only game. There's some information about it at http://www.eyesonff.com/ff11/index.shtml. It'll be a monthly payment of about fifteen dollars. I don't think I would be able to finish the game within a month. Plus, my computer is excessively slow. I know that Squaresoft is planning to release Final Fantasy XII immediately after XI by about a couple of months, just in case it happens to flop. I'm sure that many people already know that, but I just wanted to supply an address for some more information. I'll try to find some more later on.

Well, I'm making progress in Final Fantasy IX. I played for another two hours today. It's really a fun game. I think that I may actually have to go back like an hour and a half just to make sure I've picked up everything that I can. It would totally suck if I missed some really big summon or something. I think that I may want to find something like a walkthrough for it. I probably won't though. I like to see how far I can get without getting any walkthroughs. Then, I usually restart from the beginning without finishing the first game with the walkthrough.

My video is also going along. I finished making all of the images. There's about 47 or so of them. It's not as many as I hoped there would be, but I think that I can make do with them. I'm pretty sure that I'll be done by Monday, if I work hard enough. Next week, during spring break, I'll be working on uploading my music videos to the web using my friend's FTP account. He's going to host my videos. They may be down from time to time, since the server is actually right on his computer, but it's better than no video at all.

For some reason, I decided to have a deep thought. I was just thinking that a person with more common sense is actually a lot smarter than a person with intelligence. Common sense, more known as knowledge, would lead a person to know the difference between the good track in life and the bad one. Knowledge would tell someone to get good grades in school, so that they may be able to recieve a scholarship to a good, prestigious college. Then, his common sense would tell him to get good grades in college, causing him to easily find a good paying job. He would then use his money wisely with his knowledge to make his life simpler and better. Now, I'm not saying that if you're intelligent that you aren't very knowledgeable. I'm just saying that I believe that common sense is what makes a person smart, not his IQ.
