Stands up and Applauds DancingPanda for his recent Journal Entry.
At the risk of turning this into a complete bitchfest forum with journals, I have to completely agree with you, however, everyone has to realise that this isn't the case with all anime fans out there. My friends are heavily into anime, at least some of them...and I am never put down or put out because I enjoy Dubs. Sure, they butchered everything they've ever put into the english language, but you know what? I dont feel like hunting high and low for the Fansubs/Fandubs because quite frankly, it's just not worth it to me. I dont feel I'm missing anything, and if am, well, Ignorance is bliss. I've met people that have told me that I cant be true Okatu because one of my Favorite anime series is DBZ, Doesn't bother me. I dont care if i Meet other peoples criteria. I watch anime for the fun of it, because I enjoy it, and yes, there are certian themes that I (and anyone else for that matter) can and do connect with.
As for the whole "Anime is not real and therefore worthless" eh, thats just not true. You figure, anime may be useless trivia, but if it's something someone enjoys, then so what? Who cares that one scuffle in the pacific during world war II involved X amount of battleships and X amount of Aircraft Carriers...Not I, but maybe someone else. It's completely useless knowlage to me, but for 2 people who enjoy it, it's something to talk about and discuss.

- Video Journal 2001-09-29 15:26:11 Yah yah, I already wrote today, but thought that i'd throw something up. I've had an outright miserable week, which sucks, but it put me in the perfect mood to work on my surpise video, which is kinda sad..lol..anyway, I dropped a few cool scenes I wanted to use in at the end, and ba-da-bing, the video that i'd been having so many problems comming up with a decent plot wrote itself. I havent had this much fun doing an AMV sence breakstuff. ^_^

It's true, its true. We all want to improve, and How can your improve on Odorikuruu? You cant. It's done, it's been released, it's won awards, it's a classic video...etc etc etc. Same goes for everyone including me. dont sweat it if your video sucks, or if it kicks ass. You've put a bit of yourself into it, released it, and either people loved it or hated it. Sure, it may set the bar for some of the more shallow people, but I dont expect you, Aokakesu, to release something as awesome as Odorikuruu again. If you do, great!! It goes for all of the AMV creators. You just cant try to top yourself all the time. It'd be impossible to rate video concepts over other videos aside from action synch and digital effects. All videos are unique in their own ways...well..most of them...*cough fighting dbz videos set to linkin park and limpbizkit* *smaq! you have a breakstuff video up...* DOH! ..ahem..anyway.. Back to what I was doing -
In short guys, Just make videos and have fun doing them. I'm not looking for awards with the video I'm working on for AN2K2 - I'm just having fun doing it, kinda letting the video write itself :) - New Video 2001-09-28 14:16:24 Continuing work on A new video I'm doing for Anime North 2002...Not gonna tell ya whats in it, because no one is getting the jump on me. Just know its not Dragon Ball Z. If I manage to finish The NG:E series (I swear, I'm the only Anime Fan on the planet that hasnt seen this series) In time I'll be working on a Video for the Exibition show at AN. Got the song all picked out too. :) Thats gonna be a suprise as well...I'm very secretive. Especially when It comes to flooding the market. Just know it's not a band that anyone has posted here before.
