JOURNAL: nailz (nailz )

  • 2002-11-25 17:02:03 He-Man is the greatest show in the existance of TV, and New Skeletor is by far my favorite villan ever. With lines like "Such Courage, I think I'm going to gag." and and.. "I HATE heros! They're always showing up and being... Heroic!" how can you hate this show?

New Trailer should be out in a few hours. Just have to finish uploading and writing it up.
  • god...it's 3:30 already? 2002-11-23 14:39:43 Jebadia, Firestorm, you two are sick bastards. ;)

For anyone out there who reads my journal and has a PS2, I have 2 words for you... Grandia Extreme .. This game OWNS like nothing else. I've been spending 5 hours a day on it, at least, and I cant wait to get back and pick up the paddles again. Fuck the game story (although it is quite good) .. I'm more interested in the magics. You get these 4 basic eggs based on the elements. Flare, Wind, Aqua, and Stone, each with their own spells. You can then take them to the magic shop and combine them (for example, stone and aqua give you sand) to make new spells. and then you can combine THOSE eggs to make BETTER eggs! My most powerful egg right now is my Forest Egg.. <3 ..

Anyway, the game is quite amazing, the spells are cool as hell, the combat system rocks. I havent played a good RPG in a while, and Grandia is a kick ass series. I love my PS2, and I love being unemployed.

Oh, to live at home and have $17,000 just fall in your lap.. life is good.

Oh, and expect my trailer out next week.
  • Random thought 2002-11-22 23:31:07 This is not for the faint of heart, this is not work reading material. You probably wouldn't show this to your mother.. and this could possibly get me in some trouble, but what the hell..

You know.. casual sex must suck. I mean, it's nothing more than interactive porn.. it seems to me that having sex, much like porn, would lose any kind of fun over a quick time. and if my sexlife is anything like my porn viewing, i'd be fucked up in a few months. I've gotten sick of porn. One can only look at so much sex before going "yah, seen it. yah, whatever." And what is one to do?

Me? I turned to the obscure. Not for masturbation (for those of you saying "sure nailz..." believe what you want. Porn bores me.) but for entertainment. For example, furnature porn. i mean, people actually arrange furnature in positions to portray it having sex. Then there's gang bangs, S&M, Scat, Bukakke, roleplaying, fetishes, beastiality, incest, peircings, probings, watersports, torture, vampirism, voyerism, public sex, smurf porn... you name it, it's out there.

Most of it is over the top and incredibly disgusting, but it's like that peice of diseased flesh you just pulled off your skin. It's revolting to look at, and you cant stand the sight of it, but you cant turn away either. I dunno. It's strange to see what people get off on, I guess. It's also fun to guess whats going on in their minds. What would drive someone to enjoy being tied upright to a cross and kicked in the face repeatedly? What about pictures of that get people off?

Sure, it's all psychological. I'm sure in their past there was some kind of abuse. It's easy to blame abuse, I guess, for disgusting sexual acts. But then, they're as normal to them as hetero is to you. I wonder if being gay can be grouped into those other forms, even though it's widely accepted now. If say, S&M was widely accepted, would it still be considered part of an abusive background? I guess thats just a whole 'nother can of worms.

Don't mind me, I'm just blabbing a bit... Don't really even know why the hell you read any of this. Now you probably think I'm crazy, or fucked up or something. Good. :D
  • yech.. 2002-11-21 11:04:27 last night i had this horrible dream that the ops for videos changed the numbers system to words, and that jbone reviewed my Lord of the Ballz video... *shudder*
  • Blind Guardians Performance in Rochester 2002-11-19 11:18:22 Alright, so here's a little blurb about the rochester show, and we'll see what I can remember. First of all, It was by far the best concert I have ever attended. Everyone who said BG blows the crowd away is absolutely correct. There hasn't been a band that good in a long while. It was a smaller crowd, something along the lines of about 200 people, but everyone seemed really into it. Good setting, lotta fun.

Most Under-rated band: We walked in at 7pm and were treated to some local metal bands. The guys who did the closing (dunno their name) act for this room were really good. I was jamming to them.

Symphony X: Wow. Just... Wow. I'm not a big X fan at all, but these guys blow you away with their live performance. They had a lot of fun on stage and with the crowd. I think these guys were one of the best choices to have on tour with BG. Good stuff.

Blind Guardian: Simply amazing stage presence. They look like they had a blast all over. They seemed really into it... Gave us everything they had. Makes me glad I was able to catch them early in their tour. Simply a stunning performance

Andre: He doesn't move around the stage as much as I thought he would, but seeing him strum out those solos is just goddamn amazing.

Thomen: Damn, he reminds me of someone who's just in a garage, bangin away at the drums for fun. He seems to put himself behind the drums and enter his own little world. Exellent.

Marcus: Everyone always said he was the "show man" - He's just a headbanging, hair swinging, footstomping, good old fashoned jamming monster. He was all over the place.

Hansi: Man alive can this guy scream his head off. I mean, it's not even the same until you can go see BG in concert and listen to this guy live.. the albums just don't do him justice. He was all over the stage, and very very aware of the crowd. When he looks at you, you just get this feeling of "I better be singing my lungs out".. not that I wasn't doing that all show, anyway. :D

Biggest Disappointment: No "A Past And Future Secret", the crowd didn't seem to know "The Bards Song", and there was no BEEP in "Under the Ice." Also, the venue setup was incredibly misleading. They hearded everyone into this small room for the local metal bands, and BG and SX were in the next room over when they played. That meant no front row for me. Trying to FIND this place was INCREDIBLY difficult :P

Comedic Performance: After the show, I went out back with my friends, and out came Thomen and Marcus, I introduced myself as nailz from the board and was greeted with a very surprised "THATS YOU?!" to wit I handed over a bag of popcorn, which got some laughs out of them :D
It's good to know they know the nicks on the board ;)

Best Part of the Night: Blind Guardians performance of Born in a Mourning Hall, by far. They caught me totally off guard with it, and it's one of the ONLY songs I REALLY wanted to hear. I havent seen it on any other set list, so I'm pumped that I got to hear it.

Setlist, as far as I can remember, completely out of order .. maybe Raginron can give me some help here?

    War of the Wrath
    Into The Storm
    Welcome To Dying (<3)
    Nightfall
    The Script for My Requiem
    Born in a Mourning Hall
    Harvest of Sorrow
    Valhalla
    Mordred's Song
Time Stands Still (This was INCREDIBLE...)
    Under the Ice
    The Bard's Song
    Imaginations from the Other Side

    Lord of the Rings
    Lost in the Twilight Hall
    Mirror Mirror

Thanks to the Bards for an EXELLENT show, and I hope you come back soon.
