Man, has it been a while, since my last & first journal entry - if that makes any sense. ^_^ Since the last one, I've finshed my Ode' to Mobile Suit Gundam video - "Credit is Due" - which I thought would have gotten an opinion or two from the old schoolers who also believe videos can be made to the "old" stuff. At least my non-AMV making friends dug it, and after this weekend at AFO4, I met a few folks that enjoyed it too.
Speaking of AFO4, it wasn't my first con experience, but it was the first time I was involved in the AMV scene, as a viewer and a contestant. I missed it last year thanks to not knowing about the competition, otherwise I might have gotten a few pointers from my future peers at making these addicting videos.
Friday night (0308.01) was something else, first was the AMV creators party, where all the contestants were able to meet the cat that was in charge of the contest, Jason (A.K.A.: Legionair), as well as meet each other. I got the chance to meet Marlex, Brandy Tutterbutter, FujinTsuwamono, Checkm8, and several others, and they were all a pleasure to get to know.

Now, that there's a place to show some of my vids to the masses, I'm even more excited continue making music videos. Hopefully, I'll be able to recieve some opinions on the work I'm doing and from that improve on something I've been waiting a long time to do.
I've only started creating AMVs recently, but I feel that I've come a long way already. It's really a shame that my best editing work so far are in videos not appropriate to this site ("Bernie's Lament" & "Love") thanks to the violent and nude content in some parts of each. I could make all my vids for kids to see, but then I'd be neglecting the older set, and that's just something I refuse to do.
So far it's been a tough crowd here, but that might have something to do with the fact that a lot of folks still can't DL from here until after the April 21st, but I know some of the cats in the forum, are able too. Looks like they might not be intrigued unless your someone who's an AMV celebrity. I'm not so much sore as I am a little disappointed, but maybe I'm just being impatient.
Oh well, time can only tell. And in the meanwhile, I'll continue working on my current video "Credit is Due", based on the GangStarr song of the same name and using footage from "Mobile Suit Gundam" (0079).
