  • Quick Comments 2005-10-30 14:04:01 I think I've decided the down side to Quick Comments. I can't respond if someone asks me a question. Someone just left me this lovely Comment for my Koiichi's Destiny vid -

<<2005-10-30 05:33:13Brilliant! I understood it very well because I've watched and understood what koiichi was going through and your video really spoke to me...but what if a person hasn't seen digimon before? How will they understand what's going on? Besides that one insignificant thing...Good Job!>>

thank you for the nice comment, whoever you are. Though I think I've had a couple people who haven't seen the whole thing tell me they enjoy it. I dunno what people who've never seen it at all think, I'll have to re-check my reviews. I thought the vid fit well with telling Koiichi's story start to finish. I was proud of how the lyrics told the story, and how I was able to fit the music better than previous vids.

Well, your thoughtful words spoke to me - Thanks!

I think I have AMV-er's envy. I'd like to think of myself of being a decent, average, moderately okay C+ amver. I'd be happy with that. I know there's those out there with the time and money to buy the professional technology, the high-quality footage, and dedicating months of work to acheiving superior results. But recently, what do you do when you find people who you've known since they were begininers become jaw-droppingly excellent??!!! And Here I am - stuck in mediocrity!!! Did I miss something? Have I fallen behind my brethren? Have they figured out something I haven't? It takes me anywhere between a minium of 5 days, to a week, to a full month to finish a full, decent vid. Some of my buddies can finish something wonderful in days, or even hours!!! Ack!!! What's the world coming to?! What am I coming to??!!
  • Bleh 2005-03-17 11:02:08 I had just been working over my Koiichi's Destiny vid. I had successfully removed all the subtitles and then finished the ending, hoping I could enter it in this year's Anime Next 2005 AMV Contest. I know I had no hope of winning, I've seen what it takes to win and I don't have it. (Time, patience, and more money than I'd care to spend, thanks.) But it woulda been fun just to enter and show off my vid to people. If I can show people that Digimon does not equal Pokemon, that is victory enough. But sadly, after I went through the trouble of altering my vid to the Contest rules - it seems I missed something - Your vid can't have logos of any kind. Digimon's not on DVD, so I have it taped off the tv. But even if I managed to download raw Japanese eps of all the eps I needed and re-did the whole video, I'd still have to deal with the "DivX" logo. Pooh. I had told everybody I was gonna enter! I was so excited, now I'm bored and dejected.

Ah well. Now I can move forward on my new digimon frontier video that I'd been thinking about for awhile. Coming Soon!
  • Tuesday, April 27th 2004-05-09 00:40:16 Today I was at long last able to actually put my AMV-making skills to good use offline! For a final presentation in my Strategic Marketing class, we had to make a commercial illustrating our new strategies for Royal Caribbean Cruises. I used footage from yu-gi-oh, digimon, digimon frontier, descendants of darkness, and the last unicorn. I tried to avoid using people, but I was eventually forced to. I showed my amv on a huge screen in the auditorium. Some of the kids chuckled when they saw the people, but I think overall it was a big hit and made my group stand out. Later on I was vindicated, as one of my group members who hadn't seen it yet described my vid/commercial as "hot." Never got that word before on one of my vids. Not bad. Hot dog.
  • Saturday May 8th 2004-05-09 00:35:35 I've learned something today. Crap = Security. Had a yard sale today. I realized, having a lot of junk means you are well off enough to be able to buy stuff you don't need. Today I was forced to sell some of our junk. Made $80 today. Not bad. Sold some stuff. Went out to dinner. My toys didn't do as well as I thought, but we got more customers than I expected.

Always a joy having my brother home.
