The title of this entry comes from a song titled A Glorious Dawn by Symphony of Science which was featured in an AMV I saw at AX. The title implies that before something can be made, you must first create the space to make it in. Today I decided to get a hard drive since I'm dying for space on my computer. I figured that this investment would be needed for other reasons than just AMVs, so I justified it.
I did a bit of searching and got a deal on a 1 TB hard drive for $56. Pretty awesome in my book. Now I'll be able to hold all that lossless encoded footage needed to create some pretty good looking AMVs.
I'm still going through this new series. I tried looking for it on DVD or Blu Ray, but it's not even licensed here in the U.S. There doesn't seem to be any plans to get it licensed either... I'm kinda bummed about that. -

Who would want to read this anyway?
So I just got back from AX and my AMV desire has been rekindled. The flame was previously extinguished because I didn't know how to deal with certain issues my computer was having, such as space, the inevitable slowing down, or simply knowing how to prepare my footage correctly. Despite having done AMVs for years (since 2004, before I actually joined this site), I also never had the courage to post or submit anything. This prevented me from participating in a thriving community that was growing right before my eyes.
This year at AX had pulled the wool off my eyes and showed me what I was missing out on. Events went on and developed without me, and people kept up with Anime while I was left behind in the dust an lick my wounds. Suddenly, after talking to a few editors, my love for the art awoken again.
Opportunities and old abilities have vanished over time. My old videos are long gone with the old computers. I now cringe at having lost these pristine moments and my crippled ability to edit. I've decided that now is the time to move on and be not afraid, but rejoice at my glowing fire. As an artist, I will make an effort to put forth my skills and develop my talents. Withstanding the criticism will only make me stronger.
My first goal is to complete an AMV idea I've had for months by August 30h. This will warm me up again.
Here goes nothing.
