Daughter goes back to school in one more week! (Along with all of the other ankle biters in the neighborhood.)
She's been in a funk lately...not bacause of going back to school; But , we're considering moving in 2 months. She hates the idea of getting ripped up and away from her friends.
My parents have been after us to move in and take over a small house they own in Buckeye Lake, Ohio. (About 40 miles from where we currently live in Columbus.) The house sits next door to their house. My mom was recently diagnosed with breast cancer and may have surgery this winter. She's hoping that my wife Tammy can help her out. They've asked for us to pay about $300/month rent (vs. $450 we pay now.) Tammy at first said absolutly not but is reconsidering because my mom could use her help and the shooting across the street a couple of weeks ago. (I mentioned this in a journal entry.)
My parents also keep pitching that the house is a single story...if I end up completely losing a leg or two (very probable within the next 5-10 years with my diabetes.) it'll be easier for me to get aorund.
The disadvantages...the house is about half the size of the one we currently live in. Most of our belongings would probably have to go into storage. The drive alone will probably take up most of the savings in gas expenses. (my job is only 10 minutes away right now by car...the lake would turn it into a 45-60 minute drive.) Everything Tammy and Tierney knows is in our current neighborhood.
We want to move, but I don't think the lake is the answer. - &^#@$% Server... 2005-08-23 19:17:58 ...goes down more than a crack ho needing a fix.

Weekend wasn't the worst I've ever had. Wife and I got too burned out to do as much as we'd liked. Biggest pain-in-the-ass was an agressive panhandler who wouldn't take 'no' for an answer. I'd gone hunting for a plaque placed at the location of Crosley Field (The Cincinnati Red's Ballpark from the '20s-1970) This asswipe kept following me around and whining. GET A FUCKING JOB! GRR! I have absolutely no patience with someone who is capable of working at something but can't keep their fucking mouth shut and follow orders or get their ass out and to work on time. We can't hire enough good people. (Or bad ones half the time.) One of my wife's friends brags about how much he prefers to be homeless and not have to "dick around with the man". Thats fucking great...now get your ass out of >my< house.
Anyways, I got pissed at this bum and gave up. I'll try again some other time. I did get lucky and spotted an old street sign for 'Crosley Field Way' and I got a picture of it.
Ate at Chipotle for the first time...pretty good burrito. -

Let the weekend begin already dammit! The company that maintains our fire and other building systems came in today to test the fire system...and managed to set off the alarms for real. We're up to our ears in contractors and red cross blood drive employees and a bunch of them parked in the employee's parking spaces...meaning I have to hunt these bastards down every time an employee comes in and complains that someone is in their parking space.
After getting out of here I have to get a new set of tires and an oil change...the wife and I are heading out for a weekend of shopping in Cincinnati. (Yeah, we drive +200 miles to buy GROCERIES! I have to write about Jungle Jim's sometime...)
Almost cancelled our getaway. (except the wife would maim me...she wants OUT too.) I found out that there is a big Jazz fest going on in Cinci and we had a heck of a time booking a motel room. I'd considered heading to Sandusky / Put-In-Bay (Ohio's answer to Key West) but decided I really didn't want to spend >that< much time driving. Plus Jungle Jim's is still worth it.
Haven't done much on my AMV lately. I keep looking at what I've got and I'm still not happy. The song is about PORN and ought to at least have some hentai. Unfortunatly I just don't have any hosting space to spare unless I clear out my Disneyland/WDW & Mardi Gras trip reports. (Even then, I'd only have 20mb) There's a contest for hentai AMVs with the prize being some hosting space. Maybe...
