i beleive Katie was looking for anime with 'happy endings'. (We had a not-quite-riveting discussion awhile back about the pros and cons of Mahoromatic having a happy ending. To summarize, She figured if they got together in heaven (or wherever) all was good. I figure dying sucks no matter what.)
With that in mind I listed a handful of anime I know had 'happy endings'. (ignoring a fair number of those that were listed by others or are too well known like Love Hina, etc..) Subby put in his .02 cents...
I suggested> Tenchi Muyo GXP
Sub0 replied> I dropped this after 5 episodes, it's no Tenchi Muyo or even Tenchi shoujo... er in Tokyo. Rather more like the Shonen version of Pretty Girl Sammie (made for preteens).
My rebuttal: I agree with the poor choice of names and I'm not sure if it could hold up on its own if NOT attached to the Tenchi name. But the last 2-3 episodes are an absolute riot. There's only 1-2 'scary' moments in the entire series and just enough ecchi to keep it out of the kids' hands.

My rebuttal: Season one was last year but I'm expecting season 2 fansubs anytime now. (So I only have the first year to go on.) Plot: Victorian-style dolls battle to become the 'most perfect' and hopefully meet their creator. Can absorb power from human 'servants'...enter your loner, loser sucker who becomes servant to one VERY pushy doll. They battle evil doll, yatta, yatta. LOTS of goth touches (love the opening theme/sequence... jpop/goth rock/minuet) but hilarious.

My rebuttal: An oldie now. (in the same class as Love Hina) No deaths, but there are some mild drama moments. -

Some recent life news...
SSSSSNNNNOOOOOOOOORRRRRREEEEEEEEE!!!
Life has been pretty dull. The most talked about even was the return of Matthew. Back in August, we had a guy that apparently was lightly injured in an accident. My insurance company settled. Unfortunatly, this guy has severe memory problems. He kep showing up every week looking far his check and we had to tell him his claim was paid and he was done with us. I finally had to get a bit mean after he cussed a secretary and got it through his head we didn't want him around.
He showed up again last Thursday after a two month absence. Same thing. He couldn't remember having been here previously. We let him know as nicely as possible that he was done but Friday he showed up again. (And couldn't remember being here Thursday.) We again sent him on his way but posted notice that on his next return we'd call police ASAP. On Monday he showed up again and we pulled the trigger on him. Somewhat surprisingly, the police showed up within seconds of our call. (The senior officer said he was surprised to get a trespassing call from us becasue we keep pretty good control and figured it must be serious if >we< had to call for help. Kudos to us.)
Matthew was shocked to find himself surrounded by two police officers, myself and two of the claims managers. We explained to the police what has going on. Matthew still didn't remember being there at all last week but took another look around and simply said he'd leave. My boss was disapointed that we didn't have him arrested but I'm not convinced that was the right course of action. (My boss said he's going to request a higher VP for permission to push for arrest on the next occurance if there is one.) Hopefully Matthew got the hint as he didn't show up yesterday. -
