Finally bought another car today. Not quite what I had in mind, but nailed a (so far) great running / looking '93 Toyota Tercel for $700 +T+T. (Please God, don't let this Toyota be another POS!!! :( )
I'd stopped to check out what I thought was a little Neon (The kind of car I'd really had my heart set on.) on a car lot but it turned out to be Chevy Cavilier. i took it out for a test drive anyways and kind of liked it. The dealer didn't advertise himself as 'buy-here-pay-here' but did run his own financing and had $400/down on the car. When I asked what the cash price was, figuring it would be around $1600 or so, I nearly pissed backwards when he said $4500!
While I'd had the chevy out for a spin, I'd seen a little garage that had a handfull of cars out front for sale including a cute little Nissan. I waled the 1/2 mile or so up the street to the garage where I'd found out the Nissan was only a 2-door. (We prefered a 4-door with our daughter) and it was also a stick shift. I CAN drive a stick at the moment but with the prospect of losing more of my left foot to diabetes in the near future, don't know how much longer I'd be able to operate the clutch. I spotted the Toyota on the end and it was a 4-door automatic...just right.
I do have to replace the left front turn signal housing and it only has an AM-FM radio. (I'm getting a CD player installed in the morning.) but what the heck... -
