Clean sweep at Anime Punch! Best hentai went to Inter-What??? and best comedy AND Best of Show went to Boom goes the Dynamite! For once I was glad of pre-judging. Friday night at midnight they played both at the hentai show even though only Inter-What was entered in that contest. (Aganst 2 other vids.) unfortunatly, they put the CD that had the videos away after the hentai show and failed to show Dynamite at the regular showing. (Although I heard it got heavy play at the AMV dance later.) I got the Golden Boy Difinitive Collection DVD for the hentai contest and a Saber Marionette J box set for Boom.
Heard a version of the Alice Cooper song 'Poison' I'd never heard before by a group called 'Groove Coverage' in an AMV that really rocked my socks off. Unfortunatly I just went looking for it and theres like a dozen differnt videos already using that version and I have no clue which if any is the same version. I know the creator either used Elfin Lied OR FF7. I'll have to find out later who did that.
Next year I'm hosting an AMV room party.

Trying to stave off a scene, da wife 'suggested' maybe I should go ahead and go directly to the con tonight after work and avoid coming home. <.< She still loves me though, she even gave me a deposit slip to her personal bank account to deposit her 'allowance'. XD
Sure enough. daughter thought she was going to get to see me tonight before I headed out and HAD planned a temper tantrum just for the occasion. XD -

Thats partially why I go to bat for the daughter so much. Momzilla's ethics are similar to certain republicans where the end justifies the means.
Admittedly, my hands are not totally clean either but luckily that issue didn't directly come up yesterday. Some of daughter's curiosity comes from her habit of sneaking into my computer and watching anything she can...and she does have an interest in hentai. (I've actually quit downloading much stuff but she's no fool when it somes to finding it on her own.) -

Mamma-sama found daughter's diary where she had described a number of sexual fantasies and totally freaked. Pretty strong stuff for a 12-year old. After giving her the 3rd degree and determining that she was relying off information described to her by 'friends', the prisoner was handed a sentance of home confinement for the weekend. Needless to say, there was much weeping and gnashing of teeth.
(I wasn't totally shocked. Daughter had described some of these stories verbally to me awhile back in order to determine what was true and what wasn't. But if I've told the girl once, I've told her a dozen times not to leave EVIDENCE around. I convinced momzilla that for a girl (or boy) who is starting puberty, that some curiosity wasn't unusual. Momzilla agreed to forego the chastity belt...for now.)
The two had patched things up somewhat this morning but I figure it may be a good thing I'm out of the house this weekend when cabin fever sets in. -

...All F$%^&^ UP!
Just had a 'surprise' tornado drill for our building.using a new annunciator panel that was just installed and things pretty much went to hell.
Prior to starting the 'evacuation' message, I had to read a short script the building manager wrote announcing that this was a test of evacuation procedures. By using the word test instead of 'drill', half the staff blew it off or headed out for smoke breaks. (The building manager took the heat for that one.)
To stop the evacuation message after it had played through 4-5 times, one of the building engineers told the building manager the wrong procedure to reset the system...and I jumped in and got things fixed. The building manager and the engineer got pissed at each other over my intervention to the point where the manager told the engineer "I am your boss...SHUT UP!" When we did the 'all clear' message, I tried to show the building manager the procedure from my understanding...the engineer kept trying to interupt saying that it was wrong...but my way worked flawlessly. The manager wants a re-write of the procedures book and the engineer is pissed at me because I was right.
