Got Presidents fixed and uploaded again...and promptly banned from a contest. :P (One of the judges is a Texan...a republican no doubt.)
Been sitting around for most of the past week, not really doing much of anything creative-wise. Been beta-testing several video editors to see if I could come up with something better than my Ulead VS 6SE. Haven't found anything I really like. I get really annoyed with programs that demand I change my video settings. (Even UVS8 tried to do that!)
Started earlier to toss some clips at a song I think is cute...at least the chorus is funny. I'm not sure how the rest of it may look. Quality-wise, I think its going to be trash and I'm not sure if I want to keep at it. If I got more variety of clips it may work though... -

Well, I think I figured out why the ratings on my Presidents video has dropped like a rock. I tried to download it for a friend on his PIII and it keeps choking when playing about 1/2 way through. I guess I can't hope for good stars if people can't play the %&&## thing. I don't know if its the codec I used or if the file has been corrupted.
Never fear, last night I went through and took out the remaining subtitles I didn't like (there were some I do want to keep) and I also added a few jokes. (Although one is 'iffy', and I really don't like another one, the 3rd is hilarious.) I'm going to upload it as soon as I get home tonight if I get permission to replace the first version.
An entirely new idea hit me a couple of days ago and its in the sketching phase right now. (I've got the lyrics printed out and am looking to see what anime scenes will fit.) I think this is another 'fluff' piece, but will be my luck to be another 'hot' video.
Also got a couple more ideas for the AMV Hell 3 project I gotta run by Zarxrax. :) -

Since no one else ever asks, I often ask myself 'Just what is my next twisted idea for an AMV?'
Right at this moment, I'm listening to the Bob & Tom show on the radio and they are playing the invisible leash bit. Hmm...if I can find some really good clips of old farts...
On the old drawing board are ideas for other videos. My current favorite idea is a song titled "I want to kiss her butt she won't let me" set to Love Hina. Problem is that I need to purchase the DVDs as my old fansub footage is real crap.
I'm also beginning to think about 'We will rock you / We are the champions' by Queen using Black Heaven. This got brought up on the forum a couple of weeks ago and I keep stewing on it. Problem is that its too close to being a 'serious' video.

I finished my short 'The cat got dead' for the AMV Hell project a few weeks ago. I keep thinking about going back and finishing it out as a full-length video but the poor reviews for 'Naota had a pimple' are dampening my enthusiasm for more Heywood Banks songs.
Masochism Tango again using Love Hina sounds good, but I don't want get into a rut of constantly cranking videos using the same anime.
One day I gotta come up with something for Alice Cooper. maybe another multi-anime project using Green Green, Sensei no Ojikan, Onegai Sensei and others to 'Schools Out'.
Wow...my 'Presidents' video is blowing away anything else I've done and while I thought it was 'cute', I didn't think it was >that< good.

This is my first journal entry. I'm typing this left handed, not because I was watching a Mexican Jr. video, but because my right hand keep cramping up due to my latest project - 'A history of US Presidents'.
Top 10 things I've learned since my first video I made 6 weeks ago -
10. Stick to stuff people have heard of. No matter how funny you think it is, you're going to lose points (if that really matters, see #9) if no one else has heard of it.
9. As Drew Carey says on 'Who's line is it anyways' - " The points don't matter".
8. Wierd Al Yankovic and Animainiacs are gold.
7. The 4 second rule is real.
6. Get a new logo. I hate the current one.
5. Don't ask the admins for a cute nickname. Their sense of humor leaves much to be desired.
4. When asking to use profile pictures, don't count on a 50% fail to reply rate. Everyone wants into the act.
3. Major pimpage on the announcemnts forum can work, but it can also bite you in the ass.

1. Smile. Somewhere, you just made someones day. (Unless you made a LB/DBZ video, then you just made someone's list.)
