  • Random Musings 2004-08-31 08:22:04 Nosing through other people's journal entries. LOTS of comments about going back to school. (Really horrifying to think that this year's class of High School seniors were not even born when I graduated.)

    Instead of getting ready for school, I'm still in my daily grind that never ends. Its not a bad job (I'm in charge of security for a major insurnace company's head office.) I started working full-time during my senior year of high school since I only had 2 classes my last year. I started off as a dishwasher for a chain of family restaraunts and god, I hated that job. I took a shot as a manager trainee for Long John Silvers seafood but after getting bounced around between several stores, ended up with a jerk of a boss that didn't want a manager trainee, just a cook. I got into security about a month before my graduation (attended grad rehersals in my first uniform.) and have pretty much stuck with it since. I'll bore those that read more later.

    Lots of 1st time journal entries yesterday and today. Hope you're having fun.

    New video still holding its ratings. I'm surprised.

     
  • You like me! You really like me!! 2004-08-30 07:39:50 Oh happy day! Completed my 'Aaaggghhh!' video yesterday. Wasn't a terribly hard job but I really worked at the lip synching more on this one and also tightened up my editing and it looks like it paid off. The 'King' of the opinions, 'Darklife', gave me an review without my begging and said he actually looks forward to my videos for their originallity! (Yeah, he said I still have a lot of work to do on my editing but once in a while it all comes together.)

    Early star ratings are pretty good. I'm still waiting for the other shoe to drop though. The jerks will be crawling out of their caves soon.

    I'm fired up now. Can't wait to get started editing my next video. :) 
  • 2-3 Prozac later... 2004-08-29 08:40:06 I'm over most of my funk. The ratings are starting to creep back upwards slowly, but its obvious we've shaken out most of the assholes. (I know 2-3 of them from the forums. I wish I could put a block on them from ever rating my vids.)

    I think my head is still going to explode. Pieces have fallen into place for my next 2 videos, now just have to edit them. My first one I'm not sure about how well it will go over...its one of those 'annoying' funny vids. The second one will be better if I can find the right clips.

    I >HAVE< to get the LOVE HINA dvds QUICK! I've got a killer song to use with it but I'm afraid others will soon be using it to death first if I don't get my act straight. I'm tempted to crank something out first using my fansubs but I think that'll kill my later video. 
  • This bites 2004-08-20 10:59:56 My latest AMV 'Shark Attack' has actually pulled down ratings on my other videos. I swear some people must be just going through and giving '1's just to be assholes. Very frustrating, especially when my last video 'Chickens' actually was boosting my ratings. (And I thought 'chickens' stunk.) I keep trying to tell myself the ratings don't matter but I take it too personally to believe it.

    What really sucks is when I see fansub garbage, subtitles and all get star-rated higher.
