I actually >won< a contest????
I took the AMV of the month prize for MMZ studios with what I considered my worst video...Ghost Chickens. I'm not sure if I should be ecstatic over the win or appalled that >that< video won. (I'll go with ecstatic!!! :) ) -
Grandma RIP

My grandmother (paternal) passed away last night just before midnight and I've been up since 1am. I'm not usually a coffee drinker but I've knocked off 4 cups since then and I'm a couple burritos short of a combo plate right now. She would have been 75 on September 30. She had about 4-5 different cancers on top of other problems so her passing wasn't much of a surprise. We were called to her nursing home on Sunday when she started going downhill but she hung on an extra 48 hours or so.
To pass the time since I couldn't get back to sleep I started making cuts for my next AMV project. I decided to follow AbsoluteDestiny's lead...lesbians are funny. I think this is going to kick ass.
'Angel' sank like a rock immediatly...dropping to a 2.47 before clawing its way back up to a 2.89 right now. I was really bummed out for most of the weekend.
I did an offer of free comedy opinions Friday and Saturday. (And finished them up yesterday.) I think they went over pretty well and I did get to find a couple of goodies I would have missed otherwise. I wanted to start with just 5 and I think I ended up with 13. -

Released 'The Angel from Hell' (project 'shut up!') We'll see if this turkey flies.
I thought the original concept was good but was so bummed out after the first minute of footage I almost quit working on it. Forced myself this week to get back at it and on its completion yesterday thought it look pretty good. Now that I've opened it up to everyone else's mercy though, I've got that nagging bit of doubt creeping back. (7 downloads so far but no star posted yet to guage interest.)
I opened myself up with free comedy opinions today. I hope no one was too offended by either what I picked at or that I really didn't have too much to say other than 'liked it'. (Managed to give at least a 50 word opinion to everyone but that still felt insufficient.) Maybe it won't bite me in the ass since I was giving freebies outright rather that 'you op mine and I'll op yours'. (I did that a couple of weeks ago for someone and our video tastes are so different he didn't even bother to reciprocate mine after I suffered through his. I still think that was probably for the best though.) -

Its a bit tough getting motivated to complete my latest project. I thought it would be hilarious but I'm getting bored with all of the details...working my mouse finger off trying to do a half-way decent job of lip synching for a change. (And frankly, since I'm using a lesser-known series, I don't think it will get rated higher than my last video which is pretty depressing when I think about the work I'm putting into this one.)
Ahh, for the carefree days on the pointless action video.
All is not hopeless here, though. I'm still waiting for my Love Hina DVDs to come in for my next project and I was hit with a brilliant idea a couple of days ago that keeps looking better every moment. I just hope the finished project stays as good as my vision. (More effects that I don't think I can pull off my derail it...but the concept is good.) -

Had to laugh when I saw the listings for the journal entries. 3 people with Dark'X' in their user names. How unoriginal can you get? Yeah, ther only about 20 some odd 'kitsunes' too. Mine is probably the worst. since I never figured on actually participating I just stuck in my old e-mail address sans the ampersand and dots. I quit using that provider 2 years ago but I'm still stuck with the name.
I wonder if there is anyway to tell if someone else has added me to their journal 'friends' list? The only 2 I see are those that I added myself to visit occasionally. About 10 or so entries back I started noticing that I'm getting a pretty fair number of readers. (My first 5 entries had exactly 7 hits.) PM me if you actually like reading these things.
Daughter is bugging me to show her my latest project 'Shut up'. (Working title. actual title may vary. I don't actually have anything edited to the music yet. I'm still looking over the 'I'm gonna be an angel' series to figure out what clips I want.
I'm thinking about offering to do free comedy opinions. There are too many people around here that do action or drama and we need more comedy specialists. I'm half afraid to get into that though. One bad review and I'll have people trashing my videos for spite again. (Aaaggghhh! is still doing great!)
