I got a warm, fuzzy feeling right now. I just had a noob hump my leg over my 'Presidents' video. Which reminds me that I gotta find some way to push this thing in the next week or two before the election. (For you peeps that are old enough AND live in the US (both of you) - Vote Kerry!)
Looks like I'm not going to get a Halloween video out. I had one idea pop up as a backup, but did a search and found out there are about 20 other Thriller/Hellsing AMVs already out there. I downloaded the one that was highest star rated and the quality was crap. I never will figure you people out.
As soon as I get my new DVD burner/player, I'm going to work on my magnum opus. Hopefully I can finish it before November 18 when we're heading to Florida for 10 days. I'm just going to turn it loose, go away for the trip and come back and see what happend instead of my usual watching every rating point rise and fall.
Right after the trip I want to send in my registration for Ohayocon. Its been awhile since I've been to a con of any size and hope this is as fun as my past Marcon conventions. -

A few days ago, my dvd burner crapped out on me in the middle of a session. I've already ordered a replacement that hopefully will arrive by next weekend. Meanwhile, my hard drive is filling fast with AMVs, fandsubs, and music. (Oh my!) Haven't been able to do much planning work on my halloween AMV and I'm almost ready to give up and go on with the next project
Buckeyes lost again yesterday. At least this time to an evenly-matched opponet. Some people on the O-zone Buckeye board I hang out at were commenting how funny it was...winning the championship 2 years ago was a fluke and THIS was the year we expected to win it. One lousey player that decided to try to fight his way into the NFL early (and lost) is the difference. (That, and he was a crappy student.) Regardless, this year is down the tubes and I won't mention them until the scUM game here anymore.
Well, its official. 'Girls' is my #1 AMV to date. Yay! Now how to top it...? -

My latest AMV, 'Girls who like girls' has only been in circulation for 36 hours or so and is already my 2nd most downloaded/viewed/rated video. I'm still not completely pleased with how the star ratings are progressing. I don't know if its good news or bad that over 100 people have downloaded it but haven't left star reviews yet. I keep watching the points go up and down like crazy, anywhere from 3.17 (low) to 3.67 (high). I've seen less movment on a roller coaster. Love it or hate it, its making a big splash. (I don't think I'm getting any actual hate this time. The ratings move pretty slow between points so it looks like I'm getting 3s-4s only.)
I succeeded in what I set out to do though. }:> One of my regular fans likes my stuff but has commented that I'm pretty predictable. He said I nearly made him spit when the scene with the Massengil box popped up. THATS what I wanted... a real 'WTF?!?!?' moment. -

The ugly - My OSU Bucks lost to Northwestern Saturday night..."You just got your asses whipped by a bunch of %$#@$$ nerds...NERDS!" We haven't lost to them since '71. (We hadn't lost to them in Chicago since '58!) Both the offense and defense stunk and NW came out fighting. I hope this wakes someone the hell up before we play Wisconsin this week.
The bad - Have been fighting a cold all weekend. Feel like crap. Have to do my ususal work until 6pm tonight instead of getting off at 3 because I have to leave early Wednesday for a Dr. visit...my podiatrist. I pay this quack $20 every month to trim my tonails. Ok, he does do an examination of my feet to make sure I'm not getting any more infections. (I've lost 2 toes already to complications due to diabetes. The doc says I would have been in worse shape if I hadn't already been paying attention to begin with. I have a lot of nerve damage already and don't feel much pain. Most people with diabetes ignore infections because it doesen't hurt and thats when they loose entire legs.
The good - Girls who like girls is 99.9% done. I may tweek 1-2 things and still have to convert the uncompressed avi file to something that looks good. (First attemt this morning resulted in very mediocre quality.) I'm feeling really good about this one. Sure, I'm not going to get mistaken for AbsoluteDestiny here, but I think people will be rolling with laughter. I should have it completely polished by Tuesday or Wednesday but I'm thinking of holding it until Friday for maximum exposure. -

Not really exciting lately. Started assembling my 'Girls sho like girls' AMV while still working on gathering the last 2 videos I'd like to include. (1 may be dropped as unnecessary.) Have about the first 30 seconds done and looking good. This is the easy part. The chorus involves multiple overlays with lip synching and is going to be a &!*^#.
The other video I've been working on sketching out may get put on the back burner. Not for lack of inspiration, but I'm hoping to crank out a quickie for halloween. (Sitting up with the dead)
It didn't take too long for people to bitch about my winning the contest over the weekend. I don't think its the apocalypse, but there was complaining about my editing not being up to snuff. I think I won because my video was just plain funnier than anything else. (That or a few people were screwing with the contest by voting wierd.) Funny thing was the main complainer only got 1 vote, and the video he liked best only got one vote. He didn't even mention the 2nd place video being better or worse, only that he didn't think my editing was worthy. No one else has mentioned anything about this contest and I got a feeling it may the the first and the last for this group. (It was supposed to be monthly but I think its dead.)
