Guess who made the naughty list?
2004-12-17 09:51:07
Got home from work yesterday and after watching an AMV I downloaded, I noted >someone< had been watching videos in my ecchi files. (These are supposed to be off limits and are somewhat hidden on my hard drive...apparently not hidden well enough.)
I'd actually expected the wife to have been the guilty party but it just so happened I asked my step-daughter first. She burst into tears and asked if I was upset with her. It was so funny. I let her know I wasn't mad but she still wasn't sure...she also wanted assurances I wouldn't tell mommy.
I couldn'r resist asking what she made of the stuff she saw in the videos (And she saw some pretty raw stuff!!!! The mildest was several episodes of 'Ebichu'.) I think she's playing dumb, but she said only that it was "wierd" and she didn't pay much attention to what was playing. (She has a habit of getting on my computer just to kill time and uses it mostly as a distraction. I still think she saw more than she's willing to admit.)

Feeling low
2004-12-16 10:37:25
Personal life seems to be headed right into the commode. Sold my old car earlier this week in preperation of buying a car being sold by my company; A 2001 Ford Focus Wagon with only 50,000 miles for 5k. Financing was going to be done through a bank OWNED by my company so I didn't see any problems. WRONG. Bank manager refused to approve the loan because of my outstanding medical bills...not even the building manager and purchasing manager could help me get past the bank manager. At the moment I'm screwed. My mom did call with an offer from dad...they're offering to give us an old mini-van they keep around for back-up. I should be gratefull but I'd rather buy it from them than have it as a gift...they're not doing too well financially either and could use the help if they'd take it. I guess all of us are pretty stiff-necked. After the first of the year, I'm going to set up a fund to save for a newer car...maybe not 5k worth of car but for a couple grand I can get a decent Neon or something similar. (I've always like the Neons.)
Wife Tammy has been a real bitch lately too. Problem in one word - Money. She's feeling uptight because she hasn't been able to shop to her heart's content lately. She's been taking it out mainly on our daughter who screams right back at her. I'm the poor shmuck caught in the middle. I tell our daughter not to yell at her mother and I'm taking mom's side. I tell the wife she's being a pain and picking at too much little crap and get screamed at by her in turn.
Come on Ohayocon! I need a weekend of crazyness away from the wife!
Naru-85 got over the 1000 hit mark this week. (370 downloads). Girls who like Girls (1366 hits / 492 downloads) is slowly closing in on Presidents (1488 hits / 533 downloads). Ratings are slowly bumping back up on most videos.

Hopalong rides again
2004-12-09 07:35:32
I'm back in the half-shoe and foot wrap due to the blister that won't heal on the tip of my left-big toe. (I should be used to this by now...I've spent almost as much time in it as my regular shoes in the past two years.
Not much happening, AMV creation-wise. Severly under-motivated right now. My Christmas AMV would have recycled a lot of footage from Naru-85, but when I set down last weekend to work on it, found out I had deleted all of my original footage and would have to start from scratch.
Speaking of which, I'm a bit disapointed in my star ratings. (What else is new?) When I got back from vacation, Naru was up to 3.85. (I think it topped out at 3.87), now its slid back to 3.77. Most of my others are also dragging. Must be a new group of asshats. The only 2 that are on the rise is Presidents and Girls. (Maybe Idiots too, I think it rose a point.)
Ohayocon confirmed receiving my entries and I think I've got an excellent shot at taking the comedy division. Stay tuned.

I wanna refund!

Have been back since Sunday evening but this is the first time I've had a chance to update the journal.
I'll spare everyone most of the details...I'll post those on my website trip reports later. (If you're into trip reports for WDW/Disneyland, New Orleans / Mardi Gras (Yes, I have some of 'those' pictures!). Chicago or Tijauana, check 'em out at: www.wideopenwest.com/~kitsune )
Anyways, short verion is that my feet got REALLY bad blisters and I ended up cutting out 2 days of theme parks. STILL in a lot of pain. The knees and hips are agony.
The most amusing happening was when we went to Blue Springs State Park on Monday the 22nd to go manatee watching. Saw lots of wildlife (but no manatees. :( ). There were some huge purple fish swinning under a dock we were on and I was teasing the wife to stick her fingers down and see if the fish would come to her. (Like carp do.) About that time this 4' alligator comes swimming out from under the dock we are on...that killed ANY thought of sticking anything in the water there. The wife even had second thoughts about using the desiganted swinning area which has only about a football field length away until a ranger assured her the gators >almost< never swim that far upstream. ]:>
Anyways, I felt so crappy, I was glad to get home. I'll have to seriously work on my plans for our June vacation. (Planning on flying to Vegas, driving to Grand Canyon, cutting back on old Rt. 66 to Sanata Monica and 3 days of Disneyland and a day of Universal Studios Hollywood. (Not to mention several other side trips.) I'll probably have to cut 1 day of DL and the Universal Studios.)
On the AMV front - Got an inspiration when we got back and I may be able to crank out a Christmas AMV this weekend.

Are we there yet?
2004-11-17 10:59:08
Heading for florida tomorrow, passing though Mt. Airy, NC (The birthplace of Andy Griffith and the model for Mayberry.) and stopping at South of the Border. (A 'Roadside America' classic.)
Car crapped out on me over the past weekend...bad fuel pump. Been having to take the bus for the past few days until we get back...I'm not shelling out $300-$400 of our vacation money now. Bus is no big deal...actually a bit relaxing. (Still want my car fixed though.)
Heard a new Bob & Tom show song yesterday titled 'Are we there yet?' and requested they play it Friday morning when we should be near their affiliate in Ralaigh, NC. I'm also thinking about a new AMV for this song.
Naru-85 is still rising in star-rating. Up to around 3.85. Mailed it and 'Girls' to Ohayocon yesterday.
