Dodged a bullet in Scoobs contest this week. (Don't know why I'm worried...there's NO WAY I'm going to win against Yeah. That song/video is growing on me.)
Pretty much like I predicted, the art style did in Short & Sweet. (The Dragonball video.)
I hope that audio is judged next...its my best chance to stay alive another round. (And perhaps my best chance against Yeah...I heard a hiccup in his audio. If the judges catch it, I may have a chance after all.) I actually expect effects to be judged next...and mine are mediocre. (But well placed.) -

Not sure if I ought to post my comments on Scoobs contest here not since I now know its being watched, but what the heck...
The latest elimination round is for video quality and this may be the one that gets me. Any possible round could be my end, but looking at the competition, it'll be tough to find one that has its moments that are worse than a couple of mine. The only possible one I see that could be worse is the one with Dragonball...and his quality issues is mostly in the art style and not his fault. (Art style looks fuzzy to me. Never did like that.) His letter boxing looks 'squashed' too. But again, that could be the Super Deformed at work.
Oh well. No biggie.
I may take a shot at cranking out a couple more shorts for the AMV hell projects. 2 of mine were accepted already. But frankly, I think they're crap now and wish I'd not submitted them. I've got a few better ideas if I can find the right sources. (And make them funny) These were preliminary ideas I had that just didn't hold up for the entire song length but I think the chorus may fly as a short.

Sorry if I cheesed anyone off complaining about the banners...it seems like there is just WAY too much focus on those things lately and not enough good videos coming out.
I need to make something new soon...computer has most of the bugs worked out and there isn't any real reason not too, I just can't get motivated enough to sit down and dedicate an entire weekend slaving away on a project.
Scoob's contest is going ok. I got talked into entering Naru-85. The most recent person to get voted out left me a mixed review...mostly OK, but gave me a 1 for reviewability because it was an 'old' song! I don't know if I'll win...I actually think there's a better technical video...my only chance is that I think I've got the better song.

Been awhile since I've posted an update here. Mind has been really occupied with our upcoming BIG Disneyland vacation in June, our weekend getaway to Atlanta on Easter weekend (wife and her cousin are going on to New Orleans from there for most of the week.) and I've also had a major case of trains on the brain, trying to finish the model of the Golden State I started last summer and working on buying others in time for my big show in August at the Ohio State Fair.
I was so bummed out 2 weeks ago. Got my tax refund back and was all set to buy a great-looking convertable...and the dealer sold it the day before. May have been just as well...funds have tightened up again as I've gotten back to visiting my doctor and taking my medicines. We also had a blow-out that weekend. Booked us a room ar the Radisson in Covington KY for a weekend getaway. Wife decided to stay behind and make sandwiches for her church choir so that left the daughter and me. Had a blast going to the Cincinnati Museum Center and the Newport Aquarium.
Naru-85 now owns all of my other videos...most hits, downloads and stars. Rating have dropped back down to 3.76 from a high of 3.81 just 3 weeks ago.
