Not too much new to say. Took my cat to the vet this weekend for his annual check up. They renovated the place and it seriously looks better than *my* doctors' offices!! He doesn't know how good he's got it!! Most importantly, he got a clean bill of health. I also got tips on how to clip his nails myself and we're going to try bathing him again ourselves. I mean, taking him to Pet Smart doesn't put me out of house and home, but I just hate paying for something that I know I could do myself with a little better coordination. He's a big boy at 12lbs, but he was only a few ounces heavier than last year, so w00t!! Doc says since his frame is large and he's so long, 12lbs is a good size for him. So that's one relief. He's mah babeh so you always want to hear that kind of news. He's being a little pain in the butt with taking his heart worm meds though. My strategy of mixing the chewable in with his wetfood is getting old. He avoids it now >_>. He won't enjoy me having to cut it in 4s and pop them, but if it's necessary...
I saw "Up" last weekend and almost cried. It was sooooo good. "Star Trek" and "Up" are definitely the best movies of the year so far!
I did see T4. It wasn't very good to me. The dialogue was pretty lame and the editing was bad. Based on previews we'd known forever that the dude was a hybrid, and yet the movie took about an hour for him to figure it out >_>. And then the love interest was wtf outta nowhere. Not that I blamed her since he was hott and all but...The action was great at least. Of all of the movies done in 3D, this would have been a good one to put in 3D and it may have even salvaged the movie some. It definitely wasn't the worst movie ever, but it could have definitely been better...
I got to see the director's cut of Tropic Thunder this weekend since it premiered on Cinemax. I honestly think I prefer the theatrical version. Maybe it's because I've seen the movie sooooo many times and the director's cut just doesn't get to what I know is coming fast enough. Still the movie is funny as hell and I'm glad I got to see the extra stuff. Definitely explained stuff a little better. DIET COKE!!!!

AB aka Laugh Con 2009
2009-05-26 08:58:10
Anime Boston was the funniest con yet. I have never laughed so much at one of these events. Not really going to go into detail, but it will always be a "special" con for me lol. I don't think I will ever look at a sharpie marker the same way again lololol.
The AMVs were really awesome here. It was one of the best contests I'd ever seen.
One really fun moment was the line for the masquerade on Saturday. We were looking out the window to people walking along the streets. We were level 2 and they were street level so they were looking up. We waved at anyone that was looking up to see if they would wave back at us wacky costumed nerds lol. Most actually did! They were mainly Red Sox fans so were already in a good mood. It was ridiculously amusing, probably more than it should have been lol. I was cosplaying Claire Redfield from Resident Evil while my friend was Zoey from Left 4 Dead. There was this big dude cosplaying Nemesis. He was walking below on the street and spotted us in the window. He then proceeded to bang on the wall like he was trying to break it down. It was SOOOOOOOO funny. OMG we were laughing so hard. I can't even type about it with a straight face. We took out our guns and were shooting at him. That was probably the most fun I had at the con. He was such a good sport to go with the flow like that. We had saw him in the building earlier that day and posed with him, so that may have been why he spotted us so easily from the window.
Since me and my friend were zombie chicks, there were a lot of requests for us to pose together so that was fun. We're going to do the same for Otakon for one of the days =).
There was this Left 4 Dead group blasting Incredibad as they were walking around. I couldn't resist and *did* join in for "I'm On A Boat" lol. They actually had a cosplayer walking around that looks like the Lonely Island member who wears the glasses. He had the inflated dolphin, the "flippeh floppehs" and the suit. It was awesome because his features did favor him.
Oh and the AUSA team was there promoting the con. I'd sorta let it slip blatantly said that Katsucon was pretty phailtastic and the coordinator was like "that's nice to hear." She was also on the Katsucon team I would soon learn. I wanted to say "yeah and it'd be 'nice to hear' that I can get a refund." but I didn't bother. Seriously though, cons aren't cheap and when you don't even have enough space to accommodate a tenth of your attendees in the main events, that is BAD. People shouldn't be playing guitars in hallways during prime time of the con =/.
I liked the Hynes Convention Center. The architecture was really nice. I liked the balcony for the main events as well. It was also amusing that it was attached to a high end mall. I loved how confused the wealthy "normies" were about the whole thing.
Boston's a nice town! The people are really nice and helpful too. I wish I could have seen more of it. I was nice to be in an east coast city with tall buildings that wasn't stinky XD. Chicago is still my fave city though.
I liked their subway better than New York's, but I still prefer DC's. The plus side about Boston's subway though is that the trains came one after the other. It was like constant rush hour which was nice. It was also sorta creepy that you could technically walk right onto the track (mere signs say that you can't). It's not like that in DC where the track is further down so you'd have to jump down to it. We contemplated doing a mini photoshoot there since it'd be a great photo-op since there are boards in the games that deal with subways, but then decided that whipping out guns (airsoft or no) in a public outting wouldn't be the brightest of ideas.
I went with my usual buddies, so we are pretty much peas in a pod during con time. We took a road trip from Albany to Boston so we had a lot of fun driving and listening to music getting amv ideas and looking at the beautiful scenery up there. It's always sad to leave them, but it's back to the real world for all of us now. Otakon soon approaches though!! And we get a free night!! Gold Passport Membership FTW!!!

TOO EAAAARLY!!
2009-05-21 08:14:22
I really wish I were more of a morning person than I am. Anyway, at work now but leaving early to head on over to the airport! Definitely excited when I can get past how effin sleepy I am. I'm a little mad because I left my DS charger at home so can't charge it at work now. Hope it can hold me over at the airport and on the plane =/.
So, I'm heavily considering buying a house. I've got a number for an agent and everything. It's a huge and scary decision. Dunno if I'm going to Japan first yet so it's just overall really scary. I'm also alone so it's all on me. No more fun money and big trips for moi.
I decided to sign up for an adult gymnastics class at our gym. I used to do it when I was young, but got too tall for it. I still have a good amount of flexibility, so my goal is to maintain that if not improve it. I also can still manage a front hand spring. I at least want to get my back handspring back. I can fall back into a bridge just fine, but that makes me more likely to do a walkover. I have great back flexibility so that should help. I figure it will be good to get active. This will also segue in to me going to the gym more often. I'd like to firm up juuuuust a tad (while not bulking up) so it's good to go to a few weight training classes and decide what's best for me.
We have a woodpecker. It's not been fun waking up at the a$$crack of dawn to the knocking >_>. He already caused damage too. My dad is going to "deal with it" over the weekend. I'm glad I don't have to be around for that. He's been driving my cat utterly insane though. Speaking of which, he has been waaaay more affectionate than usual (or rather 'attention-starved'). I'm starting to think he knows when I'm leaving for a while.

Monday Schmunday.
2009-05-18 08:54:36
Bah! It's another Monday >_>. On the plus side, it's the start of two short weeks!! :D Going to AB this weekend and then Monday's a holiday. So there's an upside after all. Star Trek was totally awesome. I ended up seeing it last weekend *and* this past weekend. My dad didn't have a problem with that like he usually does when I wanna see a film twice. Helps that both times they were free. I was really happy that it was so good since it helped wash out the bad taste Wolverine left. Now for T4!!! The previews definitely made sure to hit all of the blockbusters. We got T4, Transfomers 2 (*drools uncontrollably*), Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian (w00t for DC!!!), and GI Joe. I don't have the highest hopes for that one since I look at Channing Tatum and just imagine him dancing his way to victory
and it's unfortunately going to be in August which is never a good sign, but that's my birthday month and I may have nothing better to do than let my friends waste money on it.

*gasp* it's SUNNY out!!
2009-05-08 09:11:04
Though there's still a forecast for scattered T-storms >_>. Anyway, totally leaving town this weekend to see my fam. Gonna see my granny, my aunt, my cousins, the whole fam! We treat Mother's Day like our Easter in terms of it being a holiday for everyone to come together. While we're down there we are probably going to catch the new Star Trek movie with our cousins. It's getting great reviews so far so I'm hopeful.
My cell phone battery totally died on me today >_>. It's my alarm so I didn't get up until late and had to scramble >_>. Still made my train though!
Oi. Beautiful Fridays are such a tough tough time to want to be in the office >_>.
My video is finished, so now I'm beta testing for my buddies trying to help them with theirs. They are working on linear editors so there's not a lot of wiggle room. I am so grateful to Adobe for making simple things SIMPLE. I mean sure, it doesn't have a built in "old film" filter, but things like pan and scan and letterboxing are sooooo much easier to deal with.
AB Hotel is booked, my plane ticket's been purcahsed, and my cosplay is ready. Now it's just a matter of that weekend getting here! It is totally happening the weekend of T4, but I'm coming back early enough on Monday to catch an afternoon showing of the movie. My dad wants to see it too, so he may pick me up from the airport and we drive to Muvico. It's along the way and I'm packing light too.
I started watching my new anime series. I fell asleep, but I *still* started on it. I may wanna work on my Otakon Friday cosplay but I don't know what I want to do so perhaps I will watch these series and find motivation. Yeeeah, that's my excuse :P. I should probably look into any games I have too since my Saturday cosplay is Claire Redfield. Though...if this cosplay is a better costume I may switch Claire to Friday. We'll see.
