LOL Wimpy Cat
2008-10-16 22:13:21
My cat's such a wimp. He used to run outside all on his own. Now he'll literally fight you if you take him outside. Guess the world's too big for him :-P.

AUSA overall was fun!
2008-10-13 16:27:20
The hotel layout really scares me though because it can barely handle it. What the heck do they plan to do for Katsucon?
The amv contest was actually quite surprising! I can honestly say my favorite category was Romance/Sentimental which like NEVER happens! It was fun to be included nevertheless (though mines was action of course).
I cosplayed Konan for the last time. Maybe I'll whip her out on a Sunday since she's really easy. But I'm going to figure out something else for the next convention. I was honestly not planning to attend any photoshoots (since Otakon's was phail and a half), but Friday everybody was really nice and someone walked up to me and invited me to the Saturday shoot at 1. It was a nice refresher from the egos of Otakon, so I decided to take her up on it.
I get there and am immediately stared down by this other Konan who then proceeded to converse with her friends who then further stared me down. Talk about rude!! She never once talked to me. Another one arrived and didn't talk to me either. They spoke with each other though and we all posed right beside each other for the group shot. I don't even *like* Naruto anymore, so why should I have to bother with such drama? I'm basically wearing the costume because I'd already put it together last year and allocate my freetime to amvs rather than costume crafting. But anyway, I left the shoot early. Later that day these random people stopped me and complimented my outfit, saying I put it together extremely well. They then added "and your wig *isn't* retarded-looking." I had to giggle to myself a bit because I knew she was referring to the other cosplayers in comparison. I worked on my costume and it showed. They didn't...and it showed. Simple as that. And it's not even a complicated costume...
The Masquerade was the worst phail ever. Only one skit was okay, then the other skit that would have been decent was just a recycled STOLEN Otakon skit from the other group. Drama drama drama. But after that , I don't know HOW they plan to use that Main Events for Katsu. Soooo help me it was teeny....
Also, the staff were jerks (not the panel people who were pretty cool) but the ones controlling traffic in the halls...And they had a baggage mix up with one of my friends. They gave one bag to someone who'd come all the way from Pennsylvania. She calls the hotel when she gets home and tells them that they gave her the wrong bag. Even still, I didn't like how they had the bags out in an open space like that since they were pretty damn vulnerable. So next time, we're parking and sticking our stuff in the car. I do NOT trust the hotel with my stuff...
I'm mentioning a lot of negative, but honestly I enjoyed it more than Otakon. I hang around with my friends and we always have a good time, though one was sick :-( Since we live apart we're just so happy to see each other and each moment is more valuable because of it. Anyway, I definitely plan to attend next year. I miss them already :-(. Now we gotta wait until Single Awareness Weekend :-(. That's like 4 moths...

Okay I realize I have a new phobia
2008-10-08 10:20:17
I absolutely cannot stand window washers. It is just the freakiest thing to me when I'm trying to do my thing and there's this person banging on your glass and potentially staring at you while hanging from ropes and wires. I just can't deal with that...
I think what messed me up was my trip to Miami last summer. I stayed at my friend's aunt's condo in Miami Beach with a beautiful lake and city view. I slept in the living room and left the window open to peer out in the morning. I thought "hey, I'm on the 12th floor so it's fine." Boy was *I* wrong. I wake up to like 3 guys outside of the window "washing the windows". I FREAKED OUT. Thankfully I wasn't inappropriately dressed or I'd have been forever mortified. It was a retiree condo community so maybe they weren't used to seeing a 20 something in the building or something, but that was totally NOT cool...

IT'S SO EFFIN' COLD IN HERE!!
2008-10-06 12:06:40
I didn't sign on to work in an icebox :-(. I almost want to put a scarf around my face...
But it's okay, just 3 more days and I'll be catching up with my buddies!!! I'll brave some cold to look forward to that (and I sure as hell won't be in here when that happens...)
