  • 2007-04-10 18:57:43 So I had an AMV moment today...

I went to the local anime store to pick up some 'designer' pocky for some people (you know who you are). Inside, I started talking with the owner and some of the other patrons about soft subs, raws, mkv containers, etc. and mentioned that I make AMVs.

So, one of the younger patrons says, "Oh, I made an amv once."

    "Really?" I ask.

"Yeah. Ever hear of AMV Hell?"

I was stunned for a second, then said, "Are you Zarx?"

He was stunned for a second, and replied, "Who?"

"You know, Zarxrax, the person who headed up the AMV Hell series. On the org..."

    "Where?"

At this point, I sighed. "Anime Music Videos.org. That's where the projects came from, and were organized."

I asked him what his screen name on the org was, and he said he had one, but it was a dead name since he only logged in once to see what the forums were like. Well, long story short, he had never heard of the org, but said that he and his friend participated in AMV Hell 3. I told him that if he went to AMVHell.com he could show me his name in the credits. (It wasn't as snarky as it looks typed in....)

I think somewhere in the conversation he said that he didn't know AMV Hell had been uploaded to the org, and it was an honor that his work was well known.

Yeah, the youtoobers do it in real life, too.

The conversation switched quickly, and when I asked if he wanted to see my profile on the site, he said "not really" and started talking about how cool Naruto was and that he had 127 episodes downloaded.

I've been giggling about it since.

The other guys there were pretty cool, and one was in his mid 50's at least. It was nice to go 'geek out' for a little bit this afternoon! I also found out about 2 small cons in the area that I might visit.

    Oh, and the pocky? Honey&Milk.
  • 2007-04-08 15:12:30 mmm.... Easter dinner....

    HAM!
  • 2007-04-07 23:57:05 Yeah, 80 yesterday, 40 and rainy today. At least no snow. That was for the northern parts. We had to cancel the Easter Egg hunt though. :(

It's been a while since I've seen snow... I liked the looking up and watching it fall angle, btw.
