Oh, Voltron was da BOMB back in the day... Robotech, Ronin Warriors, Speed Racer... and then I was introduced to Sailor Moon.... Sigh. I think 3x3 Eyes was my first real view of Anime, though. Still one of my favorites, thought not quite in the genres I frequent. -

Um...... What about cosplay? Isn't that all it is, but with minstrels and the sort? (Never been to one personally, but I really dig the clothes from back then. Brings out the seamstress in me - especially with silks on sale. heh heh heh)

Let me check with my neighbors. They say there is one just north of here, but I'm not sure when. They also have a big Shakespeare festival. Don't know if you'd want to travel for a Renfaire, but I have some killer patterns for the mideavel gowns (peasant and gentry).
