Quince, it's reeeeeaaaaallllly easy. Biggest point is that you don't alter anything about the video other than the quality. You need to use the same clips, same transitions, EVERYTHING. I had to do that with my Kodocha vid, and it was harder than putting the original together. >.<
Once you have your brand-spankin'-new remake, go to the 'edit my videos' section, and at the bottom it says, 'Request Deletion of Bad Video Entry' (or something along those lines). Click on this, select the video you just made all sparkly, and for the reason, state that you have remastered it, and want to upload the new version.
The mods will hear your plea, and then in a couple of hours (or sometimes a couple of days), the video will go *poof* and disappear. What you'll see is a big red 'NO' for that video instead of the happy green 'LOCAL' when you look at your profile page.
THEN, you go to 'Upload Video' and go through the whole upload process with the new stuff.
My advice is to make sure you have your encode ready to go BEFORE you request the deletion. You never know if your original will disappear quickly, or linger on like garlic on a first date.
