Rouroni: Remember this... ALWAYS REMEMBER THIS!!! Girls expect you to be a mind reader. Yes. It's true. It's worse when they are younger, but I still catch myself expecting my hubby to be able to read my mind. Now, on most occasions (because we know eachother so well) it works. But sometimes....
Also, she was probably hinting through the night (through the mindreading part) that something was wrong, or that she wanted you to do or say something.
Guys never really pick up on women's hints, because they are usually so subtle. Men would prefer it (back me up, here guys) if a girl would just come out and say, "I WANT SUCH-AND-SUCH for my birthday" instead of hinting around obscurely about colors, sizes, or the dreaded "Oh, you remember..."
When you go to talk to her, explain that you cannot understand the subtleties of women and didn't realize (grovel a bit here) that she wanted something from you. When you find out what is bugging her, it will probably be something that you NEVER would have imagined in your wildest dreams.
We do this on purpose. It IS a plot.
