- I hope that USPS tracking can be wrong 2008-08-22 12:44:54 So, the place I get my anime from is in VA. I'm in MD. So, I get the ship notice, and my anime is here the next day. The packages have tracking. I always check when I wake up just to make sure it got to MD ok, since my mail usually doesn't come til later in the afternoon. Well, today, I open up the tracking, and it says arrival at unit. . .in Woodstown, NJ. WTF?! I doubled checked the shipping address to make sure I didn't put my mom's address on accident. (She lives in NJ.) I put my address here in MD all right. I just hope to god that tracking is wrong and the package is actually in MD. And if the package is actually in Woodstown, I hope they realize the mistake and send it back over here, not try to deliver it to someone else. :S

Anyway, no encode attempts tonite, because I'm dead tired and generally fried from not sleeping from trying to get this thing done. Still have some more things to try, plus Rafe and EADFAG gave me suggestions/ideas too. But I'll do that tomorrow. For now, I rest.
Well, got my stimulus check (had extraneous stuff going on with it that they needed to investigate, since I wasn't sure how to fill out a tax return with only non-taxable income, and there were no guides for that until after I had already filed my tax return. . .incorrectly. So yeah.) Good thing too. Because my bank account was thoroughly drained after Otakon. That, and apparently I had my numbers wrong on the credit card that all my anime pre-orders are on. And I had one that should be coming in any day, so luckily it hasn't come in yet and I have money going in all the right directions to cover it when it comes in. Plus I got some other stuff. *^_^* (Since I was planning on using some of my stimulus check on anime anyway.) Got Fruits Basket (which I've been wanting to get for awhile) and Midori Days (I've been curious about that one for awhile, and it was cheap). Then some yaoi-ness (No Money 2-Paid in Full. Got disk 1 at Otakon and loved it. *^_^*. And I got Level C, for it looked interesting and like something I might be able to use for a certain SOAD2 idea, if it is still available when I get around to it. (Kev knows what I'm talking about. -_^)) Magic fun-ness.
You know, one of the things I'm going to miss about living here is I won't live practically down the street from the place I get my anime from, which means no more getting my anime in 1-3 days using Super Saver shipping. :( (I mean, getting the ship notice and my anime shows up the next day. . . without paying for next day shipping. . .awesome stuff. *^_^*) Anyway, we're going to be here til end of October, beginning of November. He's supposed to report in in December. Getting deployed next summer. So now I have to decide if I'm going to go with him to his next station or if I'm going to go stay with my mom. Not sure yet.
Anyway. I think I'm going to go do something else now. Something brainless. Or maybe even go to sleep. I think feeding the cats will definately be in there, since Malcolm is annoying the crap out of me. -_- -

So, I had a really good h.264 encode that was like 85mb or something. . .only apparently I didn't have the power to play it, and it got all glitchy and laggy. . .kinda like what lagarith does when I try to play it. So, if I'm getting that, I'm sure others would too.*sigh* I did get a couple decent encodes, except it would be all pixelated during the really, super fast, blinky parts. So, still trying, though I have a couple more ideas to try. Though this wouldn't be annoying if Virtual Dub and MediaCoder didn't keep crashing on me. >:( Well, this is a good learning experience. I hope this is the last night I'll be playing with this thing.
On another note, Happy B-day, NerdStrudel! *^_^* - Once Again. . . 2008-08-19 23:08:24 Into Virtual Dub to try and encode my vid in a way that has a reasonable file size and keeps a decent amount of quality. O.o Hopefully I'll have this thing up tonight.
