  • absolutely horrible 2003-02-23 09:33:32 So I should be studying...but I've been doing that since 7 this morning (EST), and I'm tired. So here's some really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really horrible anime-style pick-up lines for boys and girls, courtesy of anime-love.com.

"Hey baby, you make my tentacle twitch."
"Is that Windex ... cause I see myself in your sailor suit."
"Hi, I'm auditioning women for roles as live-action Gainax characters. Can you demonstrate your bounce factor?"
"Would you like to see my Pocky? "
"Are you naturally blue haired? "
"Wanna go for a ride in my hat, no da? "
"I like 2D, but I don't mind add one more dimension to it. "
    "Wanna fly MY YF-21?"
"Is your name Urd.. Cause you one hot goddess."
    "Hey baby, im region free."
"Want to join the "Ping Pong Club"?? "
"What is a cute catgirl like you doing in a place like this?"

    For girls:

"Hi." (Which actually might work better than any line listed below.)

"Wanna see my magical girl transformation?"
    "Your sign, de gozaruka? "
"Is that a gundam in your pocket or are you just happy to see me?"
"I need you to help me RELEASE my Clow wand."
"I bet I can make you go super seiyan."
"That's a long sword. Is it sharp?"
    "Can I call you Sempai?"
"Do you think my skirt is too short?"

    Lame, lame, lame...but funny.
  • To iserlohn 2003-02-23 01:18:04 Re: AMVs and being your own worst critic --

    I feel the same way.

I've been blasting my work since day one, because I honestly think it sucks. At the drop of a pin I can name specific errors and, in most cases, approximate timecodes for those errors for any video I've let go of (which, admittedly, only amounts to three).

It's gotten to the point where it feels normal. I can't write a halfway-serious video description or a forum post without inserting some self-doubting comment. Whenever complimented, I get an impulse to immediately rebuke the comment. The forums have a lot of examples.

I don't know if that means that I've gone too far or not.
  • doh 2003-02-22 19:05:31 ...again.

Why doesn't the journal code support fixed-width fonts, or at least tabs?!
