New Video, Local Access
2003-04-07 06:31:44
First, I have added yet another racing video, "Toccata and Fuel in D Minor." This one is roughly eight minutes of racing action using the PS2 game Grand Prix Challenge for the images. This was created in part due to personal interest, but also as part of my father's birthday package, as he also enjoys auto racing.
I also received a notice last night that I had permission to upload videos to the local server :-) So I have uploaded "If I Were Brave," based upon the first Card Captor Sakura film; this is definitely the favorite AMV of my friends who have seen my works, so it was really a no-brainer as to which video to upload first. I will try to upload other videos in the future, but am still undecided as to which one(s) to add - I am currently leaning toward "III," "Toccata and Fuel in D Minor," "A New Age is Dawning," and/or "Go Speed Racer Go!!!"

Not Anime, but Still Fun :-)
2003-04-04 22:40:57
I have just completed a new video - not concerning anime, but auto racing :-) This is definitely "non-traditional" considering the topic of this site, but is certainly fun. There are no effects with this video, thus showing auto racing in "reality" even though the images and sounds are from four PS2 racing games.

Just an admittedly-subjective listing of what I feel are my best AMVs to date. This is based upon content, not necessarily image/sound quality, editing, etc.

Heroine Revolution - Many series
We've Gotta Find Another Way - Ghost in the Shell

Why? - Many series

New Distribution, Back in Production :-)
2003-03-18 21:16:11
A few weeks ago, I just happened to visit the Doki Doki Productions site (the first time I had been there in quite a while) and saw a link to AMV Distribution Center (http://homepage.mac.com/red_wolf/Distro/). Looking at the site, I instantly thought it was an EXCELLENT idea, and was wondering why no one else had ever thought of such a system before!!! Thus, all my AMVs to date (i.e., prior to March 2003) are now available from AMV Distribution Center in both Data CD (MPEG-1 files) and VCD/VideoCD format. Those intertested can visit AMV Distribution Center for request details... and I also strongly encourage others to make their AMVs available via AMV Distribution Center as well.
In other news, I sold my former USB video capture device (MyVideo, by Eskape Labs) in January, in anticipation of soon acquiring newer, better equipment. It arrived earlier today: Hollywood DV Bridge, by Dazzle. This is a Mac/Win external FireWire DV <-> Analog converter, although I only intend to use it Analog -> DV for video capture purposes. The set-up is insanely simple on a Mac, and it works flawlessly with iMovie (which is what I use for video editing). The best thing is that it can import directly into iMovie, whereas MyVideo cannot. There was definitely loss of image quality in converting from MyVideo's QuickTime-based format to DV format to import into iMovie; importing now directly into iMovie inherently means no loss of video quality, and the initial tests certainly proved this nicely :-) Another nice feature about the DV Bridge is that it can be positioned horizontally, or vertically (which is nice for saving a little bit of space on my cluttered desktop).
I am also (already) working on another AMV - thus my first using the Hollywood DV Bridge. Tentatively titled "Memories of a Distant Star," this uses music from Video Girl Ai and images from the excellent but little-known 30-minute OAV Voices of a Distant Star. I may even be able to render it overnight tonight, but that might be pushing my luck a bit. It will be listed here and on my own site once it is finished, although I do not plan to submit another set of CDs to AMV Distribution Center until I have about 50-60 minutes worth of new material (enough to warrant another set of CDs).

New Video Accessible
2002-11-25 07:14:41
I have just added "Deep Inside Miss Deep" for downloads. "Wanderer" is still also available.
Please note that I currently have only 1.4GB of bandwidth remaining for the final week of November, so it is possible that the site will become unavailable for the final few days of the month; since many people are away from work and school from November 28-30 due to Thanxgiving, I anticipate that site usage will skyrocket for that period of time.
