All videos are back up....unless something aged out since Monday. There will be probably some edit work tomorrow, and more on Sunday while I'm killing time before my flight Monday morning. One or both of the vids may end up finished before I go back to the US...pending time spent in Belgium, and when that actually turns out to be.

So far, there are 5 videos left to be uploaded, which will probably be taken care of today, or at the latest tomorrow morning. I have to go to Belgium early next week, which will probably mean editing time on Saturday and Sunday, then finalizing and cleanup on Monday through Wednesday when I'll be stuck in the French-speaking part of the country with little to do after work. Lame. At least I finished the "letter" for #105, and I won't have to spend much time packing.

slay your dragons

I have 15 videos to (re)upload, which at current transfer rates should take a little less than 6 hours, total. With luck, it'll finish by the end of the day. This is 9 more videos than I thought I was dealing with, but fortunately there are 12 still online, and those ones tend to be the larger.
There's not a lot of determinism in what I have to reupload, and everything was cited as falling off due to inactivity rather than due to TOS violation, which is overall good. What is not good is that every Sentenced vid that I had on there aged off; what the hell is it about AMV audiences that makes them like HIM and Metallica but not Sentenced? I will never understand this. It's even more annoying when you consider that while only one video in demo 3 aged out (as opposed to 2 in demo 2 and all 3 in demo 1), it was the Sentenced video....which had more dls than the Pain vid that stayed up.
Worse is that there's no way to track real downloads; the counter on the "indirect link" is only a rough approximation, especially given the 45-second wait and the attention span of the AMV audience, and they don't do it explicitly on the hosting page; no "last downloaded", not total DLs, no anything.
If 14 videos went down, and 15 are going up, then there is one not previously hosted, or previously hosted elsewhere, which is going (back) up. There is an indirect clue in this entry about which video that is, and you know in advance it's not going to be #90.

what color is your blood

No new video progress; we've been working hard at work to make sure we won't have to work so hard in the future, and evenings have been spent packing my shit up. If all goes well on Wednesday, I'll probably be re-uploading everything formerly hosted on megaupload that's gone off-line. Right now this is five videos, for certain, some of which weren't checked at all between their upload date and when they aged out. As of right now, I know that #3, #7, #12, #22, and #73 are all off-line; some others may be that I'll have to check later.
Given that these low-demand videos are also all pushing the line for acceptable violence, they're prime candidates for direct hosting....once I get my own bandwidth. There is one other file in this general grouping that will be going up with the reuploads, which was not on there before; it plays a little fast and loose with their TOS, but if nobody sees it, nobody can complain.
Of the two videos nearing completion, one is probably going to be direct-to-.org while the other goes to Anime Boston. This will space out the releases by a couple months and make it less likely that the two vids are the same one done twice.

It wasn't until I finished cutting vob 35 this morning that I realized that I've been allegedly working on this since the end of September. Clipping has only consumed 26 hours, so theoretically I could have gotten through in five 5+ hour sessions and put these two out back, like, the end of October. Of course, my schedule (working a lot of second and third shift around that time) would have gotten in the way, but I basically took all of December and nearly all of January off -- again, more important commitments.
I mailed out a bunch of junk yesterday and will hopefully be going back to the US in the near future, maybe as early as the coming weekend. Despite, or maybe because of this, there's a possibility for a whole lot of enturbulation in my life in the imminent future. This is probably going to mean more AMVs instead of less, but anything can and will change.
