where the slime breed

Good news: I won't be following through on the title of Suffocation's second LP any time soon.
Bad news: I got no work done on the video. I got sleep in hour-long blocks interrupted with frequent phlegm-tossing last night. My throat feels as though someone has tied a knot in it. The turntable I picked up from a neighbot's trash had a burnt motor and no needle.
Good news: I finally brought in the fucking setlist. To win Hasshin! 3, all you have to do is mail me with the titles of the two songs from _A Newfound Evil_ that My Pet Demon did NOT play at this show.
setlist:
Revolution's Breath
The Faker
Whole World Gone To Hell
Self Destruct
Demons Are Forever
Pure Bliss
Cold Sweat
What Would Jason Do?
Ok, that's it, have fun, there's five prizes to be claimed. Now all I have to do is get my AWA Pro pack out the door (and recover from this throat bullshit) and life will be peachy again.

The pain in my neck isn't as violent now, but since I still general feel like crap and my throat is closing up via swollen lymph glands, I'm more inclined to give the "West Nile" hypothesis some credit. Especially since my girlfriend apparently brought it up on her own as a possible explanation of what's wrong with her. So we may yet be able to escape a wedding at the end of a double-barrel, but instead we both come down with an African encephalitic fever. Joy. At least West Nile goes away in weeks rather than years.
There's also something about neurological effects of this disease being permanent, but I figure I'm too fucked up already for that to matter. Proof: I forgot the Goddamned setlist AGAIN. Keep those pencils sharp, people......
Tonight I'm calling as a rest day (sort of, I still have to go shopping for my bro and call Meg), but tomorrow I should be able to make some kind of progress on the video, and I should definitely get the AWA CD at least burned. Gotta see about other rules/stuff to print out/hand in...........

this is the prophecy

Got some work done on the video last night, maybe some more tomorrow if I can steal it around shopping for my brother's birthday, getting my AWA Pro pack out the door, and possibly taking my other bro to Pirates of the Caribbean, which an amazing number of critics seem to agree does not suck.
Current video: Gamma Ray, "Fire Below" to Peacock King. Progress check: 62%. Expected catalog number: #79. I've got only 15 more minutes to clip, but it's Kujaku's big fight with Nobunaga and the exorcist dude's fight against the cancer pile, so there should be a lot of good source to cut through. I have about six minutes; if I use the edited version of the song (which I'd have to clean up a little more in Nero Wave), I need about 45 seconds; if not, I need a little more than five minutes. I'm probably going to get somewhere in between those two extremes.
My family thinks I might have mono, or West Nile, or Lyme disease, and while West Nile sounds possible, it's more likely that I just picked up a strand of Weymouth cold that I had no immunities against while my diet was messed-up and I was working long hours, then made it worse by straining my neck and not sleeping on it properly. It's not mono; I ALWAYS get narcoleptic when I'm not feeling good, especially when it's hot out.
Whatever it is, I'll fight through. I don't have time to waste battling debilitating diseases. And since I was stupid and forgot the setlist AGAIN, y'all have another day to research exactly what was on MPD's _A Newfound Evil_ before that list goes up.

waste of the filth

Some external issues holding back video progress, but if things aren't as bad as I've been preparing for them to be, I should be able to get back to work tonight. Of course, if things ARE as bad as I think they are, I may have to go on a 4-10-year hiatus from any AMV work at all. I'd have to spend another year just reading back messages on the .org and back issues of Animerica to get myself technologically and artistically oriented again.
I took yesterday completely off, and seem to have beaten whatever the hell bug was plagueing me last week, but my neck still hurts like a bastard, and I need to readjust my sleep cycles. Stress and psychological factors are absolutely not helping.
I'm having longer and more involved dreams, with more conversation in them, than I've been used to, and some of them are getting excessively hard to differentiate from reality. I don't know whether this is related to the sickness or not, or more to the stress. There also appears to be some linkage that I'm not really getting between dreams and between the dream life and the waking one. There's also been some very strange stuff happening that I should not really like to have happen IRL, which as I have a recent history of deja vu due to seeing similar landscapes and structures in dreams before I go into new areas is not cool. If I could got to sleep without worrying about what's going on in the courtyard down below the room in the Russian palace I'm in, or how hard that oncoming Mack truck is going to bump the wall directly behind my head, I might get a better night's sleep.
Ontopic:
There is a contest, and with five prizes! You'll each get Hasshin! 3 and a screener of the new video as soon as it's done for correctly answering the following question: which of the songs on their 2001 MCD _A Newfound Evil_ did My Pet Demon NOT perform at their show on 7/11? I do have a setlist, but I'll post it tomorrow because, like a loser, I don't have it with me. Use the extra time for research. This show rocked, MPD were amazing, especially on the bridge in "What Would Jason Do", and Life In Vain were as astoundingly tight as usual. And of course anyone who mattered left before Halo of Thorns went on, because they SUCK. Their side project that opened up the show sucked a little less.
What will be, must be.
No hope = no fear.
If this is the end, it must needs also be a new beginning.

faster than a laser bullet

First off, I did a little work on the video, sort of. I'm still unsure about how much source I'm gonna be able to get, so I edited about 2 minutes out of the song, and now have a back up should I not get 100% overage on the whole thing.
Current video: Gamma Ray, "Fire Below" to Peacock King. Progress check: 58%. Expected catalog number: #79. I'll do the rest of the clipping over the weekend and make the video early next week.
&ofcourse the big, major news: Rob Halford and Judas Priest are back together again. Somehow, Glenn, K.K., and Ian finally grew a brain and realized that they, too, could invite their original singer back (like Maiden did FOUR YEARS AGO) and get immediate commercial success. And as a side effect, the music would stop sucking! How 'bout that?
So right now we have an amazing lineup reunited, and a good vocalist a little too aggressive for typical power/classic metal (Tim Owens) out of a job. Wasn't there a post a little ways up about an aggressive American power metal band having their singer quit?
How's this for metal musical chairs/fantasy camp: Ripper joins Iced Earth. Ripper leans on Glenn to bring his new band along on tour -- *in support of Iron Maiden*. Maiden/Priest is the natural tour package, but everyone in the underground wants to see Iced Earth in the first slot on that bill. It'll never happen (since when does Iced Earth get breaks?), but it's still nice to think about.
It's going to be a year come tomorow since I rejoined the .org; there will be a contest next week. With prizes, even.
