I got GPs yesterday. They're heavy to carry around, but the fact that they return gold dollar coins is definitely a contributing factor in the assessment that automated stamp vending machines are Totally Sweet. I also got Win2K tuned and somewhat operational on Battlefreak over the past two days; currently, PowerDVD is sucking huge choad, and the mouse still doesn't want to enable horizontal motion, so taking it up to "fully operational" will probably have to wait until I can get myself paid.

This is because I dropped 20 bucks on the US release of the first volume of Hundred Stories (Requiem From The Darkness here), which is kind of like Cat Soup -- if Cat Soup drank Jack and listened to Morbid Angel. It's cool, it's gory, it worships much devil, and the artstyle is sufficiently different from normal anime that the fanboys will flee long before any possessed trees chop anyone's heads off. Come another volume or so, there is a video in this title; for now, I've got homework and a game revision pack to finish.

#91 will probably be up tomorrow, definitely by the start of next week. It's getting thicker, but I've still got a bunch of slack time.

Awakening 2.2 is coming....managed to write up nearly everything last nigh, in addition to some homework, but at the price of not doing cuts. Oh well. Got the OS, so that'll probably be on deck for tonight, and then I can start ripping stuff for new projects after I finish the 571 monster. That'll probably be next week. Till then, it'll probably just be title checking on #91 and putting that up, plus some work on the website.....at the very least I need to do another Poetry Moment for October. Those things are fucking hard; there's only so much you can say about 20 words or so of dismemberment.

Uh, video's not going up today. I've got a bunch of stuff to straighten out, and will probably not get ahold of that dictionary until tonight at the earliest. However, it looks bloody fantasic as a result of Wonka and Beo's tips on 2-pass Xvid, which I finally got around to reading, and sounds great with its ridiculous 320 kbps LAME audio track. Just like the actual content, a perfect high-speed collision of high and low tech.

OS will also have to wait until tomorrow, by which time I'll be done all the videos I loaded onto the box and have been going through with mplayer. Gantz was a little disappointing, but most of the other stuff I borrowed has been cool. Next project is still undecided.

I didn't do as much work as I should have liked to this weekend, but that's sometimes the way it goes. It's not all the time that you can pick up Singaporean black metal or hang out to all hours with your mates, and time for schoolwork is eminently fungible. I can finish that realtime crap by this time next week.....even if it is going to be a hard deadline.

"Zero Zero J-Gei Shakedown" [SH091] is finished. It'll be listed probably Monday, as I still have to double-check a couple of the titles so that I can be sure to enter them correctly. It's pretty fun, and the mixdown should be built by now, using a secret .wav-as-container strategy. It will probably go online then, after having premiered tonight at club...if it gets in there.

Next project is undecided, and it's probably going to be a secret either way. I have to shake the bugs out of my new rig (just got OS ~stealage rights), so it'll probably be a certain messed-up idea from DVD, then maybe another like it that will require some audio cleaning, or that Silent Service one that's been lying around. I'm going to propose to the three other editors who hang about Animania that we all try to punch something together for exhibition purposes come the contest; if there's not enough entries, we can make flashy stuff on the screen and distract the audience, and if there are, we can watch them at table or something.

    offtopic:
I got caught up on training this week, and am now forging ahead, despite taking today as a slack day so I don't have to worry about doing sets after club tonight. I'm somewhat ahead on schoolwork as well, which is good; there's extra papers I have to read, and I still have to modify my character for the coming campaign. Yare yare....

Current video: Cales, "Days Of Emptiness" to various J-games. Progress check: 75%. Expected catalog number: #91. Finished clipping, may do some drafting tonight but I got a bunch of papers to read. Friday is free and clear, so I may polish off the video then and have something showable on Saturday....if people aren't overawed by FMA parodies and don't want to play "Jesus God Turn That Off".

I should be looking for a new job (didn't get my old one back)....I've got more cash than last year, but tuition is going to be steep, and I still have to pay rent. All's I need is a couple hours a week to cover phone bills, food, and dojo fees.....and of course this compulsive addiction that makes cash pour out of my wallet in the presence of certain anime and manga titles. I need to come up with a better backup plan than "use bokken to mug clubbers".

Up in the air on the next video; I'll probably do something simple as a way of working ot the new editing gear, maybe from live-action. I have an Initial D idea in the pipeline, but it'll have to wait until the first season is completely released. There's a Silent Service concept in there as well, which may come up first; that'll be in the vein of #70, but I need to make sure I'll be able to do all the effects. There's no reason why I shouldn't be able to, but I don't ahve the time, between classes and everything else, to waste time on a project that's not going to finish.
