A friend came to me and said, "Hey, why not make Reika sing in your vid. Because I like her a lot, she's pretty. I think she's prefect for that song you're gonna use."
"Well.. I suppose she's fit for Sharon den Adel, but I'm not sure if there's enough of her pic that I could fill in."
"Alright, tell me the story."
"Well.. Imagine a world corrupted by crime, greed, politicians, terror, pollution. Imagine the people who suffer by this corruption. As we look at it from an outsider perspective, we see plagues and deaths. We see the darkness covering them, and continue spreading towards us. We see people starting to lose hope.. As we feel touched by these people, we begin to think the potential of ourselves becoming the victims sooner or later. Thus we feel the urge to help saving them, for each others' benefit, and for our own future. Well.. Maybe I could put Reika in it."
"That's good.. Alright, my suggestion is put Reika as the principal character to lead those people."
"I'm thinking.. Maybe if I make her an imaginary person who sings to lead us all to fight against the darkness.. That might be a good idea."
"You should put her. I'd like too see it when you're done."
"I just said 'might'." -

I searched for AMVs with WT songs and I found a few using "Forsaken"and one "See Who I Am". Now I feel like I want to switch to an alternative song.
Right now I'm thinking Kamelot's "Center of The Universe", combined with the 1st Intro track in their Karma album. That might be a good idea.. but.. -

3 days ago I went to find Yukikaze and Macross Zero DVDs at S&M. I was pretty lucky to find Operation 1-4, and Zero perfect collection.
Yukikaze Operation 3 HKDVD I bought for RM28 actually has 3 episodes in it: Op1-3. It also has "The Making of" video that is subbed in typical HK style (in other words, it suck!).
The picture quality is quite good, but not perfect. Some of the eps were encoded with improper interlace. I had a hard time to clean it up to make a footage.
Macross Zero Perfect (RM15.90) also suffered the same issue. The first four episodes had an awful chroma fx, only episode 5 was in perfect FILM.
That's what you get when you buy HK stuff.

My primary project is going on nicely, although I've yet to arrange anything in the timeline. I'm still learning how to cut out objects from a video and overlay. Frame-by-frame editing is very tiring.
I may begin a secondary AMV project, but I'm not sure if its storyboard and concept are solid enough to make it a good video. As of moment, I'm doing a 'survey' to find out everyone's preference about a certain instrumental. If I get 'good results' then I might continue this secondary project.

Last weekend I met redswing at Putra Pasar Seni to return his videocam (which I had borrowed for a month for my 'cancelled' Pangkor trip. Sorry mate.) We had a talk. I was quite glad that he didn't feel pissed after what I had done to him (with his videocam.) Anyway we're cool now.
We discussed about his latest project. He was asked to make a web-based application for profiling workers. I volunteered for help coding the system and database since I thought of returning the favour. This is also an opportunity for me to show my skill so I can be employed at his workplace. =)
And then yesterday a colleague came to my room and asked for my input for his final project which is a video catalogue system. I gave him an idea about some features that are already in A-M-V.org, and he really liked the idea. So I offered him my help until his VIVA the coming March. -

The project is going on nicely. I have prepared a scene for one part of the music. It will feature most of the characters in RahXephon coming together with style and then they group, with a Xephon and Elvy's aircraft appear on the background. Now the problem is I have to do a lot of overlays.
I watched the original English opening, and I thought it sucked except for one scene where the main character throws his saber. That one's a classic trademark! I ought to put that one somewhere in my vid.
