I just found out this morning,
some bird made a nest behind my workroom curtains. :|
Not sure if there are any eggs in it though b/c I can't pull the curtain or the nest might fall down. -

My 20gb NIKIMI harddrive broke down yesterday. I figured the cause was one of the IC somehow got burnt when the electricity went down.
Luckily I had everything backed up in my primary harddrive. And unfortunately, I couldn't sell this to anyone because my private stuff is in it, and I know it can be recovered by replacing the drive's PCB.
Heesh, what inconvenient time to get kaput. -

I received copies of Ubuntu from The Netherlands just yesterday. I odered it from their website more than a month ago, but then d/led the installer image weeks later because I didn't have the patience. But these came in pretty packages. Let's see.. I have 3 sets of x86, 1 AMD64 for my upcoming rig, and I have no idea what to do with the PowerPC copy.
I already have Ubuntu, Gentoo & SUSE running in my comp, though. The Ubuntu interface is kind of plain, and I don't like the Gnome desktop compared to SUSE's KDE. But it works great and I didn't have any big trouble (only small ones) doing online update. Too bad all Linux couldn't function my USB modem, so I settled it using VMWare.
Checkout Ubuntu at http://www.ubuntulinux.org and order your CD copies for free and as much as you want. All it require is your name & mailing address, so no harm getting it ppl. -

I received a summon letter today - a third one in my life; the second time I have to go to magistrate court. I hope this time they'd actually call me up to give testimony, because the last time I went I had to wait in front of the court building for 5 hours before they told me it had to be postponed. :mad:
To all readers who don't know what's this about but lazy to flip my journal some pages back, let me tell you what had happened.
About two-three years ago, two of my friends and I had involved with an accident between our car and a motorcycle. To begin with, it was after midnight so the road wasn't busy. We were just entering right from the junction when suddenly we felt the car got hit quite hard near the back right. But we didn't realize the hit was actually so hard until we got out from the car (the car was a Ford Escort MKII steel body. In other words, it's a 'battletank' car by today's standard.) After we got out we saw the motorcyle was still moving until it hitted a nearby building, the rider was already lying on the roadside. It looked pretty serious because the guy had a few broken bones. The car had quite a bump despite its steel body, broken lamps and a puncture. Short afterwards, the guy's friends came with their bikes. So then I had to take my Accord and we all helped the guy to the hospital and called his family.
During that time we had a little argument about who ought to be blamed. By logic it wasn't our fault, because the guy had hit from the back, he was riding fast, it happened at the junction where we entered right while he came at the overtaking lane. The only issue against us would be the car did not signal when we were cornering at the junction. But we pityed the guy had a serious injury, so my friend hoped to help him at least with his car insurance. And so that morning 3am we reported to the police, My friend and I became the witnesses.
So after some years the guy had already went out from hospital, but the case hasn't yet closed. Since then we all had been summoned quite a few times but most of it we weren't able go because of work, and my friends had already moved out from the state. So tomorrow's summon I'll be at the court alone.. Alone, and will be bored to tears for half a day! >__<
