  • Videos, video games, and work. 2002-03-28 11:05:40 Spring vacation?

This is more like, "wait patiently to become well again." Being sick has
kept me from editing, but has allowed for me to sit at work playing one
of my favorite online games, Codename Eagle. We 40 total CE fans blow the
crap out of each other with helicopters, planes, tanks, and bazookas on
a daily basis. :P The game costs a whole $5 and is one of the most basic,
fun, explosion ridden, FPS I have ever played.

I am currently clipping for my next video and planning out how to cover a
5 minute song... love the challenge. The video should be a lot of fun as
it will use a reasonably unused anime.

    Back to CE! hehe
  • Finally not sick as hell! 2002-03-22 09:26:52 Today is the first day in about a week that I have been able to function remotely normally! :P Being sick really puts a damper on creating amvs and working and school... and living in general.

The other night I re-encoded my Blood video "Destiny" to higher quality
and now it is fullscreen without having black bars on the sides... makes
it look funny to me since I am used to the mutated version I had up before. :P ...unless I screwed up again and the widescreen is TOO widescreen hehe, don't doubt the powers of a sick person. =)

  • Long Week of Programming... 2002-03-04 01:32:49 I took a break this Saturday from my term programming project to do
some essay writing and work on my new video. This one is most likely
going to be my last Escaflowne video as I have covered some of the ideas
I wanted to put into my Esca videos. If something comes up though, I won't
hesitate to jump back to making another one!

The video is 99% done, but I am going to hold onto it until next weekend
to make sure there aren't any scenes I missed or possibly
improvements in sync or scene choice.

It will be a spoiler video. :P But I think/hope Escaflowne will fans enjoy
it. It won't be my standard fare action video either... hehe, it's nice to
try new and different ways of editing.

  • VCAs and More 2002-02-19 23:04:00 "It was an honor to be nominated." :)

This must mean that some people accidentally selected me when nominating.
    lol

One very special surprise to me was the return of the top 10% and seeing my video 'Fate' tied for #8. Whoa! Too bad it's an Escaflowne spoiler video, so I wouldn't recommend downloading it unless you have seen the series.

  • Unexpected Surprise 2002-02-19 02:23:29 In my Cyberpunk anime class we watched Battle Angel, My Dear Marie, and
a piece of Robot Carnival. I was completely shocked by My Dear Marie... it
is a bit high on the 'fan service' but none of it pushes too far from
remaining humorous... unlike some shows. It has to be one of the most fun
little OVAs I have seen in a long time. I highly recommend it. I think I
will be buying it sometime soon... although sadly it is only VHS, but you
can find it for 10 bucks... or maybe just rent it.

Basic Premise: Robot creator makes robotic replica of his dream girl ala
'weird science' style. The robot of course meets the girl she is based of
off and... well you'll see. The third episode, and sadly the last, Marie
(the robot) has dreams for the first time... lots of very very good
dream sequences. Sadly the show has no real conclusion... but you can
assume as with all OVAs that don't go on... the characters live happily
    ever after. =)

...ah yes... gotta love anime... of course I personally probably only like
25% of what's out there... if even that.

Final foolish question... how is My Dear Marie Cyberpunk???!
