My header there is lyrics from "Pose" by hide-sama, who sadly passed away 4 years ago. Today, as I was listening to his music, I reflected on how much of an impact this pink-haired enigma made in my life.
The thing is hide wasn't just a rock star, he was THE rock star. The very essence of rock was captured within his soul.
Everyone’s always reminiscing on the day John Lennon died, or Kurt Cobain's, or lately George Harrison. What about the day hide died? He affected millions of people, just like them. I wish every year some sort of message was delivered that this beloved musician passed away. But, because of the ethnocentrism, laziness, and downright racial bigotry of the United States, that'll never happen.
He proved with X-Japan (and by himself) that bands of other nationalities can more than hold a candle to our own.

Yahoo!!! School's out! Time to do....whatever ^_^! The day school got out me and 10 other pals of mine held our 3rd annual "Anime Fest". It spanned three 13 hour days of doing nothing but watching anime.

I just finished my Metropolis video. I started the project thinking it was going to be a really simple video, but actually it's quite complex. The editing in the video is some of my best since there is never a point in the video where the timing is off. There's one part in the video that gets me every time I watch it. It's right towards the end where Ken-ichi is trying to pull Tima up to him amidst the collapsing buildings around him. "We are Two......Thousand.....Years........". Just hearing those drawn out lyrics really made that scene effective (moreso than anyother scenes in the video).
I'm probably going to get my videos hosted within the next month thanks to SinisterAnime. Thanks a lot, man!
Well, none of my videos won anything in the Mindwarp Spring/Summer 2002 contest (though Carlos seemed to really like my "Exodus (The Long Destiny)" and "There Will Be an Answer" based on the thorough reviews I got ^_^). -

hehe, I decided to take lyrics from both Dahlia and Forever love (X-Japan) in my header there ^_^.
Well, a lot of things have happened to me this last week. First of all, my girlfriend isn't going to jail (yay!), I've successfully finished all of my finals (double yay!), and I've earned my brown belt in Karate (Shito-ryu more specifically)!
It was just unreal at my graduation ceremony. Everyone was counting on me to pass the test; my mom, my dad, my girlfriend...everyone! I was probably the most nervous guy in the room. Luckily my nervousness didn't faulter my techniques and I managed to pass. I nearly broke out in tears once my sensei handed the belt to me. I just felt so...I don't know. There were so many emotions shuffling around in me. I couldn't help but shed a slight tear. Immediately after the ceremony ended I ran outside and sobbed against the wall. My girlfriend came out and supported me.
I told her that I didn't know what I was feeling. I've worked hard for over a year for this day and since it was now in my grasp, I didn't know how to take it. I said "Why am I feeling this way. I can't stop these feelings inside me. I'm sorry I can't hold me tears for you". She replied, "I'm really proud of you. You were strong and precise. You were like pure energy. I've never seen anyone I know perform martial arts before and I was really impressed. I don't think I could ever thank you enough for inviting me. Just let your tears flow. I'll hold you as long as you want. Don't be afraid of what you're feeling. Just hold onto me and I'll be there for you."
We were holding onto eachother for 20 minutes.
It was the happiest evening I've ever had.
