JOURNAL: Keeper of Hellfire

  • There's some hope.... 2005-07-13 16:44:52 Yesterday I've figured out how to deinterlace the Noir DVD's that they look fine. It was a filter which I'd overlooked before. I have realized that it needs less effort to remake my project to the point I was with the PAL footage before - it uses a couple of stills that I don't have to redo, and since it was edited half the way, I know about some clips I don't need and how to put the clips together.

I've received the CD with the musik too - to this point I had worked with a version which was downloadable from their website. At the moment I try to reproduce the edits that I had done to the music. It needs some stretching.
  • Noir thin pack arrived 2005-07-12 10:52:08 Yesterday I got my Noir thin box set, which I'd ordered at DVDPacific, from the costums. Full of expectations I've ripped the ep. I need for my actual project. My hope was that it solves the problems that I have with my PAL sources - interlaced frames and blended fields. I thought that the conversion from NTSC to PAL is responsible for that. So everyone can imagine my disappointment as I found interlaced frames. Fortunatly the problems with blended fields are solved.

I've tried different methods of deinterlacing - either it didn't detect the interlacing at all, produced blended fields or the result was jaggy. So I was thinking about continuing with the PAL footage, especially since all clips are already made and the vid is edited halfway too. But there are some clips I have to change with GIMP, and I can't handle the blended fields. So I have to play around with the parameters of the filters to get better deinterlacing results. :(
Damn, that will delay finalizing of my vid, and if I think about the effort I already put into it....
